Soumare, he makes me happy

Superb tonight. Thought he looked a premier league player in the making. Great touch, strong in the tackle, good range of passing, calm in possession, can turn a man and happy to run with the ball. He and Riedewald dominated the middle of the pitch.

Selles had him playing facing away from goal playing backwards as a pure DM, always said he looks better winning the ball, turning and going forwards

Chuffed for Soumare. First game he played v Birmingham I thought he looked decent and he's come highly rated from Portugal. I think he'll stay till the end of the season and see how he does. Like Cannon in that he's having to prove people wrong first which isn't easy. Was this one of James Bords signings ironically?! 😂

For me, it's still such a mixed bag.

I don't disagree with much of your assessment, but then there were moments where he totally switched off positionally and lost his runners.

Lacked physicality and was shrugged off the ball easily, gave it away and didn't track back effectively.

I've always thought there was a player in there, he has so many raw ingredients.
I think a season or so of regular football would bring it out of him...

... from memory, the obligation price (based on promotion) was circa £7m.
I'm still not sure if I'd want us to take a punt if it became an option.

I think I would take the punt on Soumare. He's not the finished product but has a lot of potential. What kind of midfielder does £7 mill buy nowadays? That fee would be a bargain.

There's a load of upside in the deal if he realised some of his potential.

He has some PL attributes, the athleticism, ball carrying, some of his touches and situational awareness.

If we could negotiate it at £5m, then I think we'd be daft to walk away.

I'm just not fully bought onto the hype train, but I want to be as he is exciting.

I would imagine that if United dont go up (and the £7m obligation fee doeant then kick in) then United will potentially look to renegotiate a lower fee with his parent club. If the lad himself is settled at the Lane and wants to stay then his parent club arent going to want to have an unhappy player back and may well come to the table to renegotiate a fee for him in the summer.

Immaculate tonight. No silly loose stuff. Some excellent passing, short and long. If it's these attributes that shine through he'll be a good player. Starting with Riedewald and having the last man pressure lifted probably helps him a lot

In this case you ask is he creative enough to be that guy in such a pair, but Peck's passing is no more progressive than Soumare's was tonight

I don’t think 8 changes helps any player

Bit unfair to judge him when you put him next to a player who hasn’t played a game in 12 months

If you made one change and it was soumare he would look decent and it would be fairer to judge him

Once again the scapegoaters are out much like sydie peck was who has now suddenly become Stevie G

Looks like Paul Pesch was correct once again

When will people learn to put some respect on my name 🤷‍♂️

Absoloutely fantastic player

You can tell when a player is a level above they have that extra yard of space compared to everyone else

Reminds me of berge to a certain extent

See if Braga will accept £5 mill for him

Immense tonight there is a player in there. Brooks maybe MoM, good games for O'Hare, Seriki and Bamford. Cannon put himself about and deserved his goal. Things are looking up, probably lose to Oxford now I've said that.
Lots of 8/10s in recent weeks - especially home games.

I said some pretty uncharitable things about him after seeing a few performances.

Tonight he was magnificent, ran the game up to about 60 minutes when he started to fade.

For an hour today,he was class on and off the ball, won the ball back numerous timed, and along with Rieder, ran the show.
I like that he can drive forward with the ball aswell...not the finished article, but big potential...sign him up.

Even though i think he shows sparks of promise I’ve been underwhelmed regards Soumare.

However today for 60 minutes he was the man of the match. He was on fire, very confident trying tricks and flicks and most of the time they came off.

Only one game but he looked a top quality midfielder. Reminded me of Patrick Viera.

Serious potential here. Even when he was making mistakes before - giving the ball away cheaply, slightly ponderous on the ball, neshing tackles - there was still something about him. He glides in possession like Sander did. And he uses his body well in close quarters.

Decision making could be better at times. Biggest thing for me though is in how he improves bringing the ball under control to give himself more options. He could actually learn a lot from Blaster here. Soumare tends to receive the ball head down, and plenty of times there were options he just wasn’t seeing. Small things but make a lot of difference. Although I’m still excited by the potential here.

On the other hand, if he proves to be good enough to keep him they'll probaby want more than the £7m rather than less.

I like him, he’s got a huge ceiling and only 22. I would be seriously looking at signing him up especially if peck leaves

One of his best games, if not his best game to date for us. Played well today, hopefully its his McCallum moment where he grabs his shirt claims it.

I think I've got to eat a lot of humble pie regarding Djibby☺️I've watched his performances this season & being honest I thought he was way out of his depth at this level, but the last few matches I think im warming to him, and dare I say it, he's starting to have a bit of class about him, hope its not a flash in the pan, because if not we might ( Just might ) have a player on our hands😊
