Soumare, he makes me happy

I think his shots sum him up currently.
A little awkward, a bit rash, nieve, raw in his decision making..
But brave, positive, and enthusiastic.

I hate the term "theres a player in there" there's a player in all of them, they're professional footballers, but this lad has all the tools, and the attitude to go along with it. He's sooooo much to learn, even just to became a regular here, but he's the modern midfielder, and he could become a real asset.

So its the midfield wingers fault they dont create for him. There is no way Cannon would have scored that 3rd goal, excellent cross from Burrows and Campbell made sure he got on the end of it . Cannon would have been stood on the penalty spot
Cannon wouldn’t have created the 2nd one either, as Campbell did.

On Soumare, he needs to hone his post-match celebrations with the fans. Flip flops on a slippery pitch whilst fist pumping with the crowd is a recipe for an arse over tit moment as he so nearly demonstrated last night 🙂

Just shows it’s all about opinions. For me he was the only player putting his foot in. That includes the defenders as well.
He certainly likes putting his foot in and I like that about him. Has the potential to be like Souza with more aggression, just needs to tidy up a bit positionally and on the ball.

My first half comment was because I thought on more than one occasion he was slow to track back and left his markers. He also looked a bit leggy.
In the second half he was much better. As was all of the team. He made a crucial blockage early in the second half. And improved from there.

Soumare looks to have excellent ability. He was put in some really difficult situations tonight, being given the ball under pressure, but he handled them like a pro, creating space for himself and distributing well. This season's managers seem reluctant to play him, while giving so much praise to other midfielders. Every press conference seem to include a weekly Tom Davies segment. Isn't it time to put some trust in Soumare to see if he can keep it up?

If he doesn't start playing every week as the first pick, with a partner of Wilder's choosing (undoubtably be Mr No Goals) then I'll be completely bemused.

He's got the potential to be our best midfielder.

I've said this from the start, thought he and Tanganga (when he came) were the only brights parts of that first 8 league games (the fact we saw Soumare so little says it all). He has all the attributes physically to carve out at least a decent career. At the moment he is exactly what this team needs. We need some fire and someone that can carry the ball in the middle, and who can put themselves about, make their presence felt.

He can pick a pass, he wants the ball under pressure. He's not scared to make mistakes.

He is exactly who we need to drive the team forward from midfield.

No goals and Riedewald infront of a back 3 is far too safe.

He’s probably the only midfielder that isn’t Tom Davies that can make something happen from midfield. Thought he was excellent again tonight & really can be the engine of this team.

That one game this season when wilder starts him with Davies will be a sight to behold

He's started 3 games under Wilder and we have won all 3. Lost all the others when he didn't.

Wouldn't mind seeing him next to Jairo or Matos which could give Soumare a bit more freedom to break the lines, which he is great at. Peck needs resting. (I think Peck would be a great sub to bring on after 60 mins to add some intensity against tiring legs)

Looked ridiculously good when he came on last night, certainly earned another start in the next game given our options at the moment.

Spot on. Shoves him out in front of the fans to celebrate a quality performance then pulls the rug!!! Shit decision Wilder
Was excellent when he came on last night. Missed a good chance though and pulled a decent shooting chance wide. We don't know anything about his fitness levels so my guess is 3 games in a week required squad rotation. I understand Wilders thinking on this but not his decision to leave Riedewald on for so long after picking up a yellow and clearly blowing out of his arse.

Yes I have to agreed. Putting a player on a pedestal, only to knock them off a few days later doesn’t make any sense to me. Performances build a player’s confidence, not dicking about with needless squad rotations.

Classic Wilder power games to prove he is the boss. It’s partly aimed at the fans too to try and say ‘I know better’. But then our Chrisseh fawns all over crocks like Cannon, Davies and Shacks.
PS huge Soumare fan here. As most ball knowers could see he was a player even after the Brum game.

3 game week and its on record that Soumare is building fitness to the level Wilder needs it to be at. He also came off against Blackburn due to fitness as Jairo said as much in the post match.

That said he should have brought him on sooner last night.

Yes, and if Selles had fancied Soumare a little bit more, things might have turned out differently for him, the team and the player. From day one everybody knew the we needed a Souza replacement as a No1 priority…Soumare is the nearest thing I’ve seen so far.
So stop fucking the kid about Chris and play him.
