Some Wilder quotes from tonight

Is it me, or is the style of play more of an issue than the players.

from Kick off in the 2nd half we passed and moved then got a cross in. We seem to have brought players in who are not suited to long ball.

Fleck, Coventry - Football
Duffy, Burton - football especially under Haaselbaink
Chapman - Boro - football
Clarke - Not sure but I don't think Bury were known for long ball. heading the ball or being target man doesn't seem to suit him.
Sharp - lost count the amount of times our defenders tried to put it on his head.

These guys are just not enjoying playing this style of football and it's as simple as that.

Wilder needs to take responsibility and stop putting it on the players. in 4 players time this team will be completely his and still playing a brand of football 'his' players don't suit.

Just fucking sort it Chris, it really is on you.

Squad need time to gel, need time etc etc yes, but he's overplaying this name and shame direct talking thing a bit and in danger of losing the dressing room already IMO, even though he brought half of them in. This is reminscent of how Redfearn ended up sounding at Rotherham. Warnock comes in, same players and gets them performing. And "Even the new ones" is not going to motivate the old ones that he has now resorted to playing.

Hmmmm. The W word again. How soon before it has its own thread? WTF is wrong with this club :(

CW needs to look at his own team before criticising any of the officials, although we could've had a couple of penalties if the officials weren't twats. :)

Talks the talk but it would appear he can't walk the walk, oops sorry comment two seasons to early

If you mean me, it was more to make the point it might not just be down to the players than saying bring him in.

Close but I mean someone's going to start a Warnock in thread imminently....I think it would be hard to argue with.

Come on Chris. It is still early doors. Fecking ridiculous result tonight

I feel for wilder. I hope he's getting support from McCabe who ultimately has to take responsibility. He should be sat behind a desk with Chris now on the phone working tirelessly to get people in, somehow I don't think he will be doing that or giving his man that sort of support. It's your mess Kevin get it sorted.

well not me, it's way too early for all that. If we're at or near the bottom in November maybe, cos I don't think we'd do a Barnsley.

Much as though we definitely need some more players, the sum of the current parts of far greater than the result.

The manager has to get the best from what he has, and right now that's miles off.

He's inherited players from 4 different managers, that's the problem. It's going to take time. There should be zero blame directed towards wilder ever if we go the next 43 games without a win. Only one man should fall on his sword here and that's McCabe

To be fair though he has brought quite a few players in now, and while there's a way to go, and accepting the GK situation, he should have been able, with what he has available, to put a team out capable of something far better than the absolute dross I witnessed on Saturday. I'm glad I wasn't there tonight. edit: sorry for the long clumsy sentences, I'm staying off the pop for a bit but the words just aint flowing the same ;)

"I thought we were exceptional in the final 75 minutes tonight, didn't concede, had zero attempts on goal, made a twenty goal top scorer the captain and now he can't play with Big Harv, I really didn't believe Nigel Adkins when he wished me well with a HUGE grin on his face... Still, I'm hoping the Estate Agent and the Bradway lads will keep on cheering us on... ra-ra-ra...."

You keep sacking mangers and that's what you get, yet most people seem to be right behind every sacking.

Clearly Adkins history of success was all down to luck. You coukd tell that because his unterviews were too positive. No really.......

Straight taking is what we needed apparently, yet for some reason criticism of Wilder's interviews is off and away already.

There's lots wrong with us, but let's not look the fans for the answers.

I digress. Wilder needs to be cut a huge amount of slack, but that's not to apologise for every error made, and he's making some. It doesnt matter either way, because a mid table finish will result in another sacking, another change in direction, and another round of bullshit from fans demanding yet more change.

I feel for wilder.

Why? - 6 players shouldn't be in that team - at least 2 are his signings.

Where's the pressing as promised? - Southend showed us how it's done.

Was told Done wouldn't play wide left (ok, in a 5 like Adkins did), but wide in a 4 was always going to be suicidal.

Bad choices, bad managerial decisions.

We have to stop this lunacy and give one of the fuckers unconditional support.
Since all the others have been binned it's going to have to be you, Chrissy Wilder. And take a bow, because I just know you have it in you.

Chris I know we are only 3 games in and we may as a team still be gelling. But for fucks sake get your hands out of your fuckin pockets and make summet happen. I for one relished your appointment thought your dedication would transpire onto the pitch it hasn't and tonight I thought you looked totally clueless. Please make me look the biggest cunt on this forum come may then we will both be happy

Last season it was Adkins sounding too positive that made the players shite.

This season, the misplaced passes are due to Wilder having his hands in his pockets?

You did miss a :D from your post, didn't you?

Have you ever taken a step backwards and thought the job might be too big for him? - just like playing (for the 3rd time) is for Billy?

I genuinely hope he succeeds - but the above, for me, is a major concern.

No mate unfortunately not I'll stand by anything I post I thought tufty was a man manager who Geed his side up to become better than the sum of their parts. All I've seen so far is a man out of his depth without a clue what is he trying to achieve. I do hope he makes me look like the biggest CUNT on this forum thought and if he does its my round.

Both goals were onside, the player the ball was passed to was behind the ball at the time. Either Wilder doesn't know the off side rule or he is beginning to squirm and look for lame excuses.

Just seen the goals again on Sky Sports.
The player the ball was passed to was definitely in front of the ball for both.
Therefore both definitely appeared to be offside.
Despite this, none of our players seemed to appeal.
If they had done and vehemently the linesman would possibly have flagged?

It's not a lame excuse to point out that 2 out of 3 goals they scored should have been disallowed.
Most managers would quite rightly have made much more of it than Wilder has done.

On top of everything else our players need to get a lot more streetwise when it comes to pressuring the officials to make the right decisions.
Same story with Basham being dragged back in the box after their defender had just been warned.
If Hussey directs the corner towards him, the ref would have no choice but to give a penalty.
Instead, he aims it miles over Basham's head and the blatant fouling goes unnoticed or at least unpunished.

Wilder has already signed more players than Adkins did.

Just seen Wilder's interview and it's the 2nd and 3rd goals that look offside not the first two as he seems to suggest

Fill your boots. He sounds like David fucking Brent with a dee dar accent.
