Some perspective

All this club bashing isn't helping anybody.
I've accepted that actually we are not as good as our 14 point lead suggested. Credit to the manager for attacking the season from the start and accumulating those points. Without that consistent start we would not still be in second.
We are now in a dog fight to stay 2nd with Boro, Blackburn, Millwall, Luton all in very good form snapping at our heels.
The players we have on the pitch will be giving everything to collect points from every game. They and the manager will all want a promotion on their CV.
Note also, the big players that have been, and continue to be, unavailable for selection, or running on empty due to viruses like glandular fever etc, whilst having had to train on inadequate facilities with no players brought in to strengthen us due to owners who no longer seem to give a toss what happens.
What these players and manager do not need is us fans getting on their backs. They are giving their all. They are not vastly superior to any of the teams around us and are battling to stay ahead.
We, the fans, need to be the 12th man whether winning losing or drawing and encourage the team to be the best they can be. If it's not good enough in the end it won't be for want of trying.
Fans like the guy having a right go at JLT at BL the other day need to take a long hard look in the mirror.
COYRAWW!

We're 2nd in the league, and in the quarters of the FA Cup. If the season ended today, you'd say it's been a hugely successful one.

The players aren't losing games on purpose, they want promotion as much as we do. But it's just not clicking at the moment, for whatever reason.

There's no room for negativity in this final run in, we all need to get behind them.

No one has considered how Boro will react if they do catch us. At the moment they are Blackburn know they have to win pretty much every game so their players go into every game like it's a cup final with no pressure as they're not expected to catch us.

If they overtake us then they become the favourites and every team will have a target on their backs. It's no coincidence that when we lose games fans of the other team say it's their best performance of the season.
No one will ever know Robbie, because it won’t happen. Your final sentence is just one of many reasons putting pressure on players and management.
The same players put a shift in Wednesday night, because it was Spurs, and no one expected them to win!

I wish it had finished today.

What’s the safe number of points needed to go up? 84 ish?

There is the hard way, the easy way and then there is the Sheffield United way.

Alex Ferguson was once asked ' how do you become a good manager?'
His reply was 'have good players'.
we have good players.
Brian Clough said 'players lose you games, not tactics. There's so much crap talked about tactics by people who barley know how to win at dominoes'

never really knew you d appeared on cloughies radar. Or that you played dominoes.
It's not the 80's anymore mate
Tactics are important now

Boro have won 12 out of 15 games scoring 35 goals they are a top 2 team at the moment and play like one

We aren’t we are grinding out results cause our manager is scared of a gust of wind

Carries on like this they catch us quite easily IMO
They're a top 3 team at the moment

We are a top 2 team at the moment

The table doesn't lie 3/4 into a season, so we are where we deserve to be now and anyone who doesn't think we are needs a brain transplant.

Staying there isn't a given though, and it's clear that a few of our players need a kick up the arse. The manager needs to consider his tactical approach at the moment too.

At the end of the day, we need to win 6, maybe 7 or our remaining 12 games. I am just focussed on that, and if we can't do that then we don't deserve to go up.
