If Wilder stays, we go down. Period. We've then got to service a loan on the stadium with vastly reduced income. The idea that we'll definitely come straight back up is very optimistic. We should be doing everything to stay up. Not dwelling on past glories. It's patently obvious the players are no longer playing for Wilder. He's needs to go today, get Big Sam in, organise the team and start challenging again. With Brewster, Mousset and others revitalised, we can still do this. Leave it another month and its too late.
Chris the 🐷. You’re on the wrong board. Toxic Tony’s North Korea Talk is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I dont think the players have lost faith in CW but they know the system is not working.
I've wondered to myself on multiple occasions whether the senior playing group have the balls to tell Wilder that the players aren't enjoying this style of negative football.

I get the feeling that Wilder prefers a group of 'yes men' that don't dare question his decisions.

Pigs are pretty stupid though

They think they're clever posing as Blades thinking nobody can tell who they are, but you can spot a pig a mile off by the way they talk and their mannerisms

If the team's crap sack the manager

If the team's crap spend more money

Their two answers to every single problem which is why they've no longer got a stadium or a pot to piss in
If you run out of money hold the begging bowl out.

Need rid of a manager? just hold on until Christmas Eve.

And that’s before we get on to the big issues with them.

So, it’s not surprising that they find themselves trolling on the Forum of Sheffield’s club.

You don't really know that for sure storm. And as individuals we don't have to follow others like sheep. We can do what we think is best for Sheffield United. I think the Prince has just proven that by his long termism.😊
You’re right, perhaps not an absolute. What’s killing me is he doesn’t even seem to be acknowledging the blatantly obvious problems, honestly that would be enough for me. Recognise the issues and show commitment to fixing them. All we’re getting is excuses about the quality of the opposition and bemoaning individual errors. As if we’ve been Barca for 89 minutes, and would be fine if not for some mistakes. That’s clearly bollocks, by every metric we’re a terrible football team and have been for months. Bringing up the Wolves game yesterday made me cringe so much. And how on earth can he say that first 30 minutes was anything remotely approaching acceptable?

Whilst I'm not in the Sam Allardyce camp, I find this a strange opinion considering he has made a career doing exactly this.
Considering we are currently coughing up possession too easily I'm not sure Big Sam is the one to eradicate this.

Don't get me wrong, this is a really difficult situation and the idea that he would be magically be able to turn it around is for the fairies.

However the idea that Allardyce plays hoofball always is a myth, at Bolton and Sunderland they played some decent stuff.

If appointed what he would do is get them well drilled in training at the back and find the best way of playing for results with the players we have. I don't particularly like the guy but it's a fair guess to assume we'd do better in the PL with him in charge. He has much more experience in the PL than Wilder.

We don't have the players to play Hoofball anyway. Only one of our strikers is capable of winning a header and he can't do it all on his own.

Unless Berge or Egan is going up front.

Period ????
Your not from New York your from Norton lees ....

West Brom fans must have been cringing yesterday. Not just because they were totally outplayed by Villa. But because Big Sam just looked so out of place! And Sammy Lee needs to retire, was embarrassing watching him barking orders for the entire game!

We aint got Woodward or Currie either sadly😊.I take a philosophical view and think there's alot to be learned and enjoyed watching something you care about develop with time and patience. Despite that getting tested again yesterday. Life is a journey for me and football is only a part of it,albeit a big part. Never all consuming though and I think it unhealthy to carry burdens.Especially ones we have no control over.
Mind you I do hope if and when we get back to the Lane, some of the vitriol on here doesn't get thrown at Wilder and the lads. They need us now more than ever.UTB
You are right.
You have been vitriolic towards Chris the Blade though. 👀

Didn't Warnock and Bassett??

I admit I wanted wilder out but his passions back look at the cheeky chappy interviews etc I do wish he was back this Jan big Sam has

I’ve read this 100 times, still have no clue
Could it be 'I do wish he would be backed (with funds) in January like Big Sam (Allardyce) has been'... ? I don't know for certain, just putting my intelligence training to use from when I worked at GCHQ....

Threads like this are why I disappeared from this forum for a while.

It's not just about this season, in spite of how much we'd all like it to be. It's about long term planning of the club. Last time we came down from the Prem we made poor footballing decisions and it was catastrophic. I'm not even sure we've fully recovered given we struggled to compete financially even in the Championship. It's only by a Wilder miracle we're here at all.

If, and it's not an if I really want to entertain, Wilder were sacked then the replacement HAS to be the kind of manager who wants to play the same kind of football that a Wilder team at its best does. Because if it's an Allardyce type then there's no guarantee of short term success anyway (given you don't have players that suit them) but what results is you completely overhaul the way the team operates from backroom staff to first team to accommodate them. That costs you money. Even if you get the short term success, it's dire to watch, people get tired of it, and you plateau at the level that kind of football can give. Then everyone wants to change back to playing some progressive football, with a bit of style, and you have to overhaul the entire squad, coaching, and scouting team again. That overhaul usually results in a bigger drop in performance, because your first team aren't capable of playing that way, and you end up down anyway.

Worst case (and a likely one) you end up going down anyway, but the club is set back even further by having a dinosaur in charge who spends a lot of money to make you worse. Best case scenario you survive a bit longer and then think "Fucking hell, this is dire, we need to get someone in who wants to play like Wilder did" and then go through the problem all over again.

Just stick with the plan and know you have a manager who's hauled the club forward beyond what anyone expected and has the ability to do it all over again while playing some attractive football. Stick with a manager who lives and breathes the club. But for the love of God, please never take me back to the days of watching Kevin Blackwell, 4-5-1, Darius Henderson, hit and hope, dinosaur tactics, hoofball ever again. I can take relegation, I don't know if I can handle that.
