Pearson took over at Watford when they had 8 points from 15 games, a better situation than we're currently in, and with a far more talented squad than we've got. And still failed.
I don't know why names keep getting suggested because none of them will be able to do significantly better. We need Europa League form for the rest of the season just to stand a chance of staying up.
If Wilder stays, we go down. Period. We've then got to service a loan on the stadium with vastly reduced income. The idea that we'll definitely come straight back up is very optimistic. We should be doing everything to stay up. Not dwelling on past glories. It's patently obvious the players are no longer playing for Wilder. He's needs to go today, get Big Sam in, organise the team and start challenging again. With Brewster, Mousset and others revitalised, we can still do this. Leave it another month and its too late.

So your answer is get a manager in who has not managed to get a job for last 2 years? If Wilder stays, we go down. Period. We've then got to service a loan on the stadium with vastly reduced income. Why is it a lot of the Wilder out posters are mainly posters who have only been actively posting for a few month! It seems a little strange to me! Why would they not post during some of the best times we had!
You’ll be back to calling everyone who disagrees with you pigs soon.
Either our current predicament has provoked otherwise quiet fans to post?Oh give it a rest ffs! It’s a genuine question why is it when you look at the most vociferous wilder out posters have they only been posting during the bad spell?
Sam saved Sunderland from relegation after 2005, why not with us?
Football has moved on since 2005 unless you hadnt noticed especially the PL
I agree that football moves on. It moved on from last season, so the fact we finished 9th then is irrelevant to our current predicament.
So are you saying if a manager has a poor run he should be sacked every time. So if the new manager comes in and say loses 8 or 9 games he gets sacked?
Nobody is dumbing down the poor form the team are in and not playing well but surely previous seasons and successes have to come into it? Surely the fact we shouldn’t be anywhere near the PL must come into it? Surely the man who single handily got us into this position should be given the opportunity to get us back?
Or is it back on the managerial merry go round? Taking punts on has been managers who play a style of football that makes your eyes bleed?
Nope. He should be sacked if it's apparent it's best for the club. Like Ranieri when he was sacked by Leicester, just a year after winning the league and establishing himself as the ultimate club legend.
This isn't the 'Make a wish for a Blade Foundation' , this is a business, a ruthless one at that. Those who aren't ruthless in changing get left behind.
Wilder is failing to change, which is worrying.
The only argument to keep him is that he knows the club and has got us playing well in the championship before. As I said in the other thread, keeping Wilder means accepting relegation from the PL.

What about those people who think him being sacked isn’t best for the club? You and a few others may think this but most of us think what’s best for the club is to keep the manager we have! The argument to keep him is he has brought unparalleled success to this club playing a style of football we haven’t seen before! I would take his 4 years more into account than the last 6 months!
Why bring Allardyce saving Sunderland from relegation 15 years ago into the discussion
It happened that long ago its irrelevant, last season isnt as our bad form started towards the end of last season
Its like saying if we do get relegated lets get Warnock back hes good at getting promoted from the Championship he did it for us in 2006
As you mention Warnock, Wilder reminds me of him in terms of his wasteful PL signings.
Allardyce kept Sunderland up in 2016, so only 4 years ago.
Then he kept Crystal Palace up in 2017, so only 3 years ago.
Then he kept Everton up in 2018, so only 2 years ago.
You think he's lost it since then?
We were all laughing when Wednesday appointed football dinosaur Tony Pulis as their manager. Allardyce is brother chip. However, I will concede that he has a 100% success rate as England managerWhilst I'm not in the Sam Allardyce camp, I find this a strange opinion considering he has made a career doing exactly this.
The mad rush to employ him since 2018 possibly gives you a clue...
Nope. But Id be damn certain he'd have more than one point on the board with one goal scored from open play in 12.You think Big Sam would get this group of players to finish 8th or higher? Can’t see it personally.
Because he left Everton in bad circumstances. Hardly relevant, they are a different kettle of fish.
How many jobs since then have come up for lower league Prem clubs? Or did he suddenly turn to **** when the clock changed to 2019?
Maybe those PL clubs showed more loyalty
