2m social distancing would mean 4 or 5 seats between each person.

And it would take about 3 hours to fill and empty the ground.

Your forgetting family members who share same house can sit together making it more complicated. Plus the online ticketing system would need updating because it doesnt allow odd seats between groups. Also seeing crowds outside the ground before this happened how would you social distance outside the ground ? I cant see social distancing working at all at Football grounds so it either is no fans until social distancing is scrapped or its proven mingling outside at a Football Ground doesnt spread the virus, or we are all vaccinated/immune. I can also see games being home fans only for a while too. Long way off yet before fans allowed back in.

With the 2mts gap, the queue would be from Shoreham St to the Sty. The Star would have everyone about turn, take a photo and claim it was the queue to buy 10 year season tickets.

If it’s safe for children to go to school then why isn’t it safe for fans to go to football?

My biggest fear with the “social distancing“ mantra is there is one group of people who absolutely love the situation as it is, the Police and Emergency services. Think about it, no football fans causing them agro on a Saturday no drunken muppets fighting outside the clubs on a Friday Night, they think all their Christmases have come at once and will want to keep it this way as long as they possibly can.

The mood music today saying that things will be looked at on a local basis also fills me with foreboding, SYP have long wished for their holy grail of big games taking place with either no away fans or behind closed doors, I’ve been told this personally by a police officer that Senior members of South Yorkshire Police have long stated privately their desire that they should have the power to declare some fixtures too dangerous or costly to play with fans And should be behind closed doors.. and suddenly it’s been dropped into their laps. They won’t be able to believe their luck And will not want to give this up easily.

and everyone very close walking out onto the pitch...could be that there is evidence that viral load higher/more likely to infect if sat next to someone for sometime rather than walking or running past someone.

Well, kids statistically are the least affected group of people. The number of children who have died from the virus is tiny.

For me, crack on. Why not make it voluntary? If you want to go, go. If you're worried about risks, don't go. And if you dont go, don't meet someone who has been.
