Whenever we travel across we go to The Lord Nelson, for reasons I still don't quite understand.

I do like Fanny's, as it is affectionately known. Proper little pub that hasn't changed since 1902 or whatever.

With a day and a half booked off.............it is fair to say I will be drinking in most places !! Look for someone horizontal and introduce yourself !!! I'll have a pint!!

Prefer Cremorne. Kelham Beers but limited for space.
Sometimes pop into Golden Lion but beer is electrically dispensed (stones) so it's not the best. It too gets crowded - although there's a fair few off here that frequent. (Sotty maintains they smell of piss) but only ever noticed when Swiss is in there ;)

Usually frequent the Sheaf or sometimes the Lion, I might well try the Cremorne for some Pale Rider as I'm leaving the car at home.

I'll be wearing a Brayford T - in grey so if any one wants to give me the wanker sign and shout "Hey Kenny you tosser" I'll pretend I don't know what the fuck you mean.

Fannys for me as well proper pub with decent Real Ale on
IPA Reserve and Abbot Reserve are quality if a little strong when thay have them on

The Golden Lion.

Fuck knows why. It's a shithole, with shit beer.
The Lion or 'showers' as we prefer to call it Is decent, if a little small, fast pour taps and decent lager. Plus it's close enough to the ground.

Oh and it's better than that shitty little pub in Euston we went to first after qpr ;)
Sheff de party we're meeting at 6 to go get some noodles on london road before, you're welcome to join.

Then we'll head to the showers to fill up our senses

Used to be fantastic and had Jaipur and good food. Now there is no Jaipur, or Farmers Blonds and the food is well-overpriced. 18 months ago I would have said see you there, but now? No chance. I go to the Wetherspoons on Sheaf Island (Old Wards Brewery on Ecclesall Road)
To all Spurs fans - Don't go to Wethersoons! We couldn't get to the bar when Southampton came it was paked to the rafters and they only had 3 serving behind the bar! don't want that palaver again :)

Any pubs showing the game live ?
I've got some mates coming into Sheffield without tickets but they just want to be in and around the atmosphere. Hopefully it will be good one.

I'm getting a bit confused with all this ring of steel stuff.

What are the walking routes available to the stadium for Blades fans drinking in pubs at the away end of the ground, eg. Cricketers, Golden Lion or pubs on London Road.

Pain in the arse is what it is.

Basically if your heading to enter the South stand or the Kop via Bramall Lane from the city who can't.

You need to walk past CCC [called sumat else these days], you can' get past The Cricketers, need to enter Bramall Lane down Hill St next to The Railway.

All bollocks.

I think i will take myself and the lad into the Sheaf tomorrow,i'll happily have a drink with any twat of here:D

Dev Cat if I'm early
Tap if I'm late
Sheaf Island if I'm skint

I went upstairs at the Copthorne over Christmas. Is it called Maggie May's? It was shit anyway. They were having an auction of Blades memorobilia, kids everywhere, no atmosphere, nowhere to sit, and expensive.

The Royal Standard will be showing the match live. It will be packed before the game so should be a decent atmosphere. Off the top of my head it's also likely to be on in:
The Red Lion on Charles Street (nice pub but not a big football atmosphere)
The Scholar on London Road (cheapest real ale in Sheffield? ambiance to match)
A place on Shoreham Street just past St Mary's Road, the name of which escapes me (no idea)
Edit: Might be on in The Cricketers'? Not sure how the wall of steel would affect that.

In town:
Common Rooms (sells real ale, probably full of students)
The Cavendish (as above)
Bar One (as above but no real ale)
