So... what are we lacking?

With the team we've got at the minute, I defiantly feel we'll be comfortably safe, around abouts 16/17th.
However to make that next step forward I think we defiantly need someone with a bit of pace whether that's out wide or up top. Also a strong midfield general who will sit in front of the back 3 and isn't afraid to put a foot in
No need to be so defiant pal, just say what you feel and go with the flow. :)

The two players who caused us the most problems on Saturday were Jota and the ginger kid in midfield......also Watkins was very lively when he came on. All 3 moved the ball quickly and moved it forward, this is what we need to do better and faster.

I think for Brooks to play we would look to drop one of the front two rather than one from midfield and put him in the Number 10 role, just behind the main striker.....this would create the much needed link with the midfield going forward and an extra body defensively....we may therefore see more of Brooks away from BDTBL than at home.

QPR have signed Baptists on a free. Whilst I realise wages could be an issue, he would have been a good signing for me.

I honestly can't work us out yet.

For the first 20mins on Saturday I thought 'shit we're really going to struggle this year'... as we looked like every opposition team I saw at BDTBL last year. Thought Brentford looked incredibly comfortable.

Next 20 was a bit more even and we started to look a bit more like I expected us to play. 2nd half I thought we looked much more at home. But until I see more of the division it's hard to tell... (no one actually knows if Brentford are going to be a good championship team or bad one this year so hard to say what we need based on that).

That said based on Saturday... as well as Clarke played I still think we desperately need another forward. Billy touched the ball like 8 times all game. Now I'm happy with playing that way as I believe you show faith in him one of those 8 touches a game will result in a goal as it did Saturday. The issue being I think you need a bit more than what Clarke or Lavery offer as a strike partner if we're going to play that way.

We also need another option in midfield. I haven't seen enough of Dolph to say if he is that man... but don't go along with a lot of what people have decided already about him. I don't see it being him that caused the shift in possession I think it was more down the the change. He came on and we changed shape massively...

...I'm also happy with our back 3... but would like cover.

As I say this may change massively 10 games in... or probably after Saturday.
