Every one of our lads gave it 120% against the European champions, against a team who now are unbeaten in the league for 16 in a row. Contrast that with where we’ve come from then it offers a different perspective on today.

A loss today doesn’t matter because we showed heart, grit and an immense work ethic. I’m so proud of everyone one of our lads and anyone who isn’t doesn’t deserve to call the Blades their club.

We’ve been waiting years for this moment, a chance for redemption and a chance to respond to years of hurt and pain. I’m proud to be a Blade this afternoon and you should be too.

You see, I agree with the sentiment, but on the other hand it’s this that makes us “the plucky underdogs”...”the tough luck story”...little old Sheffield United.

Not a dig, and yes I’m proud of the effort and determination but if we are seriously going to compete with these teams regularly and consistently we can’t afford such basic errors, and missing chances, and just say we are proud. Effort and determination is a basic.
It’s hard for me to describe what I mean, but just feel it gives the media and all those arrogant plastic supporters of the big clubs the platitudes and “hard lucks” they love to peddle out from their position of aloofness.

Maybe, just maybe we will require a goalscorer in January to survive.

Yeah but I'll go further...we fucking hammered them. 4 or 5 clear chances 2nd half, deserved a 2 or 3 goal win never mind a draw

Defence were fantastic, midfield were excellent [apart from giving the ball away on occasions], front 2 kept going without many clear cut chances against 2 excellent centre backs.

It was another howler [add it to Leeds & Chelsea!!] though, which he/we need to stop making. But overall they were magnificent.

As to the comment about [maybe] needing a goalscorer in January, we have goalscorers, but they need service, which so far this season has been somewhat limited. Sadly, potentially our best goalscorer was in the BT studio! he might have converted Leon's miss?

To be fair, that did look a penalty for them. Gotta see a better replay, but it looked like it to me.

Not even close to a penalty. Took the ball before the man

We should have had at least four corners from deflections that were never even considered. Our players were livid every time but to no avail.

Sorry mate but I consider that bollocks. Yes we're plucky little Sheff Utd, yes we've seen us be unlucky against big teams for years, but not like that. We hammered the Champion's League winners, we've some genuine quality- it's very different nowadays, we'll be grand

Thought officials were first class today, one of the best performances I have seen in ages. Thought it was a penalty, but it was difficult to see even with TV.

Billy would have loved to have been in that game, but at least it's settled for me who our best goal scorer is, and he didn't cost £20,000,000

Played very well , worked their bollocks off & gave 100% & the tactics were spot on , gotta take our chances though & cut out the mistakes in otmrder for us to get our just desserts
We’re still learning at this level but heading in the right direction

Still very very proud of the lads

What a team.

That is all.

Brilliant today, first time this season we've been on it for 90 minutes.

Yea that sounds harsh but we've shown too much respect, today we were really on it.

Also on a separate note, thanks to Liverpool FC for not diving, not time wasting, and not surrounding the referee.

Although that last one might have gone out of the window if Leon had delivered?

God I'm proud today.

This is from The Guardian match report,

Anyway, they’re now top with 21 points, eight clear of Manchester City, who play Everton later this evening. Meanwhile Sheffield United stay in tenth spot for now, on eight points, and can console themselves with the fact that there is surely no way they’ll be going down. They’re simply too good.

Those we've got do the best they're capable of. Can't ask for more than that.

Hopefully they'll take the chances more into season but when people say chances are limited we create loads and can't take them which is worrying

'Points on the board is all that matters'

Garbage, utter garbage. Its about the performance, the passion & the enjoyment, & but for one error that was utterly enjoyable.

If all you want is points I believe 'Strictly' is back on TV, sounds right up your street!
