It’s not.

It’s £10m with add ons to a max of £11.5m according to Sky Sports.

They are usually pretty accurate.

As far as strengthening goes, I’d guess CW gets about half that. Tops.

All of it.

The story goes that Wilder was told he was to generate his own transfer funds. Uncle Kev will bankroll the club while Wilder deals with the football.

So Wilder has now got the largest transfer budget in history and it’s bugger all to do with the chairman!!

Simply lovleh.

(If true of course)

As a complete guess, I’m definitely NITK, I’m going for £18m.
That’s £10m that he had before and £8m from sales and released wages.
Please feel free to argue against this figure and tell me I’m being naive and unrealistic, but fGs please don’t invoke hoary old chestnuts like broken fax machines, packets of crisps, unscheduled friendlies or McCabe’s back pocket (not an exhaustive list). :(

If it is that, then the club have massively undervalued Brooks and need to have a word with themselves. They would have sold the best prospect out of the club in a long time for a bang average price in the current market. More to the point, the original bid was reported to be £10m and that was rejected outright. How is this bid significantly better?!

He gets the add-ons, specifically the sell on clause if and when Brooks is ever sold for more than 20m. And 5% of that. In a few years

Now the dust is starting to settle (ish) blades I have talked to are generally happy with the sale, providing of course Wilder gets the cash, these lads are the sensible types who don't spit there dummies out at the first signs of something disappointing, far to sensible to post on here, well one does.

Star suggests some will go back into the academy

I guess there'll be the usual slush fund set aside for January

I also guess a figure will go into the bank as a contingency

Thus leaving £1m for Chris

Who knows?

BROOKS is his name FFS! How many more times. David Brookes has never played for us.

A tail from old.
Three OAP ladies go to buy a Tele, it costs £30....

Before we start on 'how much does Wilder get', can we answer the previously tabled question:

Where is the cash - in part or whole - which we assumed was generated by the sell on clauses of Maguire and Walker? Does anyone know how much that was?

If the answer is 'we don't know', then see 'how much will Wilder get to spend from the sale of Brooks'.

Most of the money is going in compensation for anguish and hurt feelings to Ricky and his singing section, according to Injury Lawyers 4U.

He's a bargain waiting to be had then.

Where are the other bidders who think he's currently a steal?

We're stil in the financial year in which the amounts are due. So you'll have to wait until December.

I suppose he's worth whatever you can get, if the top offer is ten million then presumably that's his value, bit like selling your house, everyone thinks their house is worth more than it is, until you try to sell it,or of course take it off the market until later, in other words we ought to use purple bricks next time, simple

The club runs on thin air. It has no business expenses. The audited accounts, showing year on year losses, are a fiction.

Premier league clubs, apart from Bournemouth, have wank scouting systems and no judgement. Most of them had never heard of Brooks. Rumours that dozens of scouts were watching him regularly (remember the tortured anguish on here?) were entirely false. Of those that were aware of him, some failed entirely to recognise he was the next Messi or were entirely taken by surprise by Bournemouth’s secret interest in him. As a result none of them, not one, topped Bournemouth’s offer. Luckily the deal has not gone through yet so Liverpool, Spurs et al can still come in with the £20m bids and this outrageous daylight robbery can still be avoided provided the fax machine is working.

Neither Brooks nor his cash-hungry leech of an agent did anything whatsoever to engineer a move. It’s entirely McCabe’s fault that we have received over £10m for an unknown quantity. How on Earth can we replace this key player who promised much but, in truth, rarely delivered despite the ‘must start’ clamour on here?

I’m mad with rage and the world must hear of it.

To be fair Sean mate, I've seen you raise a similar point elsewhere about rival bids. The lack of bids from elsewhere shouldn't detract from the feeling of this one falling short or undervaluing Brooks in some way, if that is indeed what you're suggesting and I've understood you correctly. There can be one offer on the table and the club should still hold out for what their asset is worth, for too long United have been criticised as accepting the first offer that comes along - it may not be true - but it smacks of a small club mentality "we better accept this or we might not get anything else!"

And if the latter point were the case, what of it? You're contracted here lad, you won't be walking for free for a few summers yet. United ought to hold all the cards to get a fantastic deal.
