Sneaking 2nd

Certainly not
Probably safe to say most of us would swap places with Bournemouth, in 2nd, games in hand, but the pressure is certainly on them, draw or lose one of those games in hand, ramps thing up, if they don't take full advantage and the rest including us, carry on picking up points anything can happen, few more twists and turns yet this season

It’s on.. if we can get one or two back fit and play like we did tonight its deffo on. Keep that intensity on the pitch while pouring the ‘league table’ pressure on Bournemouth I think could easily bottle it. Their run in is bloody tough too. UTB

Derby and Reading next up for Bournemouth, both fighting to avoid the drop, both have a chance of doing so, Bournemouth might pay a heavy price not just in terms of points, but injuries, yellow and red cards.

If we can perform like we did tonight then we’ll get close but I just can’t see it. We’re stretched too thin after all the injuries, we’re one injury away from kids both in defence and attack, realistically, Hecky will have to rotate the squad whether we like it or not.

On a different note, loved Billy tonight set the tone right from the off to get BDTBL rocking and demanded everything from the team. Also I think Wilder might have done us a favour by making us attack the kop in the first half, far too many pedestrian first half performances recently, why not attack the kop from the start and put clubs to the sword? Tbh it just hadn’t even occurred to me that it might improve our performances but after tonight I think we ought to try it again.

When you look at the points we have thrown away, we could easily be in second place.
As much as I love the championship for how competitive it is, I have been underwhelmed by the lack of quality I’ve seen at the lane this season.
There seems be to about 10-15 teams who are pretty similar in terms of quality which make it a real bun fight.
I can i only really think of Forest and Blackburn who looked any good.
If we hadn't had a piece of shit as a ref down at their place we'd already be above them albeit games played in their favour. Terrible result for them last night, dropping 2 points to the team in 24th at home.

They're panicking because they know we're coming for them!

Jesus! Draw against Forest and we’re not good enough to make play-offs, beat Boro and now we’re back in the race for the autos. Us Blades flip flop more than a beached kipper 😂
The other way of looking at it is weve played 3 home games against 3 top contenders in Blackburn forest and Boro and taken 7 points. More than 2.3 points per game which is what's required

I'd probably prefer if we didn't get too close to 2nd spot because if that becomes our main goal and we miss out in the last 1 or 2 games of the season we might go into the play offs a little dejected. Not being a negative ninny just realistic

There’s a lot of pressure sitting in 2nd with only a small gap. It’s more so with Huddersfield level on points, and both of them could bottle the game they play while sitting there.

Bornmuffs next 4 games include home games against Derby, Reading and Bristol City. They will get enough points from those matches to put them out of sight.
They coud’nt even beat whipping boys Peterborough

It doesn’t work like that, we all thought they would stroll to 3 points at home against Peterborough last night.

My prediction - If we are within 3 points of them by the time we play them at home, then we will get second. The pressure will get to them and they will collapse.

If Bournemouth don't go up this season then surely they're fucked with Financial Fairplay rules. Let's hope so!

They did sell an awful lot of players for big money immediately upon relegation, you would have thought most here would have noticed given we bought one of them. Wages to turnover is probably still shocking but FFP isn't concerned about that

My thoughts exactly. I can’t imagine Bournemouth being too worried about us. Huddersfield are looming large in their rear view mirror and it will be their results Bournemouth will be looking for rather than ours. Having said that there is always a chance of an outsider coming up on the rails to pip them both😀

We would probable have to win at least 9 of the final 11 games to stand any chance and that’s hoping they wobble!

Don’t really rate Parker but the have too much of a gap atm.

If we were Bolton fans we would be sayings how we actually have the advantage over Bournemouth for 2nd. Typical negative united fans.

Aye but look ar the games played - United, 11 games 24 points, just over a point per game, Bournemouth 7 games 13 points, a gnat's under a point per game.

Very similar form, all told, and they have the points and the squad depth to hold us off.
I make it two points per game, but I get your point…🥳

Had a look on Bournemouth's forum, amazed at some of the comments, 4 page 'discussion' on the merits of sacking Parker, while they are in second, couple of comments about their prawn sandwich eating/Man U lite supporters, upset at little old Peterborough not rolling over.

And a few more about Parker not knowing his best side, playing a left winger at RB, and Billing starting his 3 game ban at the weekend,,all's not well down there, of course stuffing Derby and Reading would change that, but anything less than 6 points, adds more pressure

100% we can do it if we play a settled front 5 without resting.

Fleck, Norwood, Berge, (sub) Hourihane.

Sharp, MGW, (sub Ndiaye/Jebbison)

If fit that front five should start every game because we can get that 2nd spot if we do. If we rotate when it’s not forced through injury we will drop points. Hope Fleck is alright but if not Hourihane is more than capable of stepping in. If we carry on benching fit players like Berge for instance then we won’t make it.
But if one of our front 5 get injured due to not being rested, we'll have injured one of our players and also not make it.

Managers don't rotate for the lolz.

I don’t fear anyone in a play off situation other than Forest, I’m hoping the FA cup run burns them out a little bit & we can get Baldock, Bash, Stevens, Fleck all back to boost our number.

Goodes back again now too which is another body we need in

Agree with the exception of Stevens apart from back up/sub.
