Smoke bomb nobbers and stewarding

SYP are a shambles, without question, but there are probably a couple of contributing factors here.

There are less coppers about but you can probably thank this wonderful government for that. Slash numbers and they can't police properly.

I'm guessing SYP focus on home fans because they'll have intel and lists of troublemakers while identifying an away fan would be a lot trickier. There should be some sort of agreement between forces where they'll work together on games.

You forgot snowflake and woke too.

An honest question do you just come on here to vent and goad? You may be a lovely fella, but you come across as a bit childish and simple.
Everyone’s a critic.

On the odd occasion I do come on here and post daft posts, but there’s little harm in that as they’re generally tongue in cheek.

You clearly don’t see the other 99.9% of posts that don’t go down that route.

I agree some right idiots follow us at the minute I was stood in top corner of carpark waiting for my dad I had my mask on also a lanyard as I suffer from an invisible disability A sheffild United fan (I use that term loosely) approached me asking why I've got mask on and why I've got lanyard I explained I have an invisible disability can you leave me alone please he carry on then decided to walk away shouting your a moron. your a moron.i moved further up cherry street to wait for my dad I found this scary and also upsetting
Just to clarify I mistakenly pressed the laughing emoji after several pints and punches to the head. Hope you realise he's a cock gobbling Bell shaft!!

So what do you recommend for people who suffer from asthma or similar? Stay at home?

Pop a mask on for 5mins until the smoke dissipates.

Or, just do what they do when they go to a club and dance through it. Or like on bonfire night and toast a marshmallow.

Come on pal, a bit of smoke for 5mins tops. Get over it.

I take it you don’t have family members who suffer from asthma?

Yes, 1 actually and multiple mates.

They go to clubs with smoke machines, they burn garden waste in the garden, they go to gigs, they go to festivals - they’re not demanding all these things stop because they have asthma. They work through it.

If smoke is part of the entertainment, then the choice is theirs. Uncontrolled and unpredictable use of flammables in a crowded public space is a different matter altogether.

I'm not condoning the behaviour at all, but the frustration is understandable.

The whole matchday experience at Bramall Lane is poor. The queues for a pint, the speed of the staff etc... just start pouring a shit load of pints ready for the hordes of people coming.
They must know how many they sell on average. Pour them and then dish them out.
Think running out of pints on the final game of the season is fine. They sell them to make a profit, not to provide a service to the fans (sometimes the two go hand in hand). They were selling them off at £2.50 earlier in the day to make sure they used up all their stock. It's perfectly fair to not lose money on wasted stock for fans to be able to get a pint at half time.

Fair point. However, there’s an element of danger in everything we do as human beings. Assess and mitigate. Banning, restricting and adapting parts of daily life to suit absolutely everybody is impossible and ends up sanitising clean everything we’ve ever built. I’m not in that camp and neither are my asthma suffering pals.

No need to sanitise everything. Nor do we have to make life shit for other people unnecessarily. Uncontrolled burning objects in crowded public spaces are a bad idea. The Bradford fire was (if I remember correctly) caused by a discarded cigarette.
Context is everything. I get hay fever (some of the younger generations have inherited it as asthma), but I would not expect the council to concrete over the parks for my benefit. I do expect an organised event involving crowded spaces to have safety planning as a high priority.

Smoke bombs and flares are hear whether you like them or not. Not having a dig but they aren't going away now. Got my sympathy but if its effecting anyone's health they might be better staying away from matches nonmatter how many people are banned there always gunna be someone with a few in ground

When u see some of these matches in Europe like Greece (PAOK v Olympiacos), Germany (Bayern and Dortmund at few times) and Poland (Legia Warsaw v (Steaua Bucharest - ok, maybe not so much this one 🤔) and NOT think to yourself that itd be amazing to be part of that atmosphere? Its bonkers. I don't get it.
How we're not hearing and seeing images of horrifically burnt and injured kids/disabled people/elderly every other week from these games

I understand your point. I do. We’ll never agree on it though.

There’s CCTV all over the ground WTF do they use it for .. fashion shoots ? Im sure they can easily able to identify anyone throwing flares or anything else for that matter usually resulting in the culprit getting nicked . Once upon a time if you went on the pitch or charged through stewards the minimum you’d get was been ejected from the ground . Fkg nowadays seems that anything goes .. the stewarding & policing is a joke .. outside they can’t film home supporters enough !

I didn't mention wasting stock.

Work out the average sales, multiply by 70%, have that many ready to hand out and start pouring the next when that's running down.

A lot of fans don't bother going for a HT pint because of how shoddy the service is. Improve the speed / service, attract more custom, make more money...

What I'm describing isn't a rarity. They do it at other stadiums.

There is equipment to deal with this. Any large stadium ( Exeter Chiefs in my neck of the woods which is way smaller than BDTBL) has beer dispensers that pour about 20 pints at a time - never any issue getting quick service of ale

Well on the Kop they had ran out of everything except chips before half time. Seemingly also ran out of turnstiles given it took 25 minutes to get in and we missed the first five minutes

Won't they last until all the drunkards come along for the womens Euros?

You ought to go up in Westfield corner (if they don't give the tickets to the opposition). Watching them pour cans is so painful.
