We got 32 points from the last 12 games. A repeat of that would be very nice!

Great post!!👍 I was thinking the same about enjoying the moment.....there's a thought that when something happens, like being in the PL, then we'll be satisfied. But that's no guarantee....I'd take this season over 20/21 everytime...!

At any one time, there's only a select few groups of fans that are actually happy......if Liverpool didn't win anything this year, despite being one of the greatest teams in the world, with a full trophy cabinet....a lot of their fans would be disappointed.......enjoy each moment blades!! 😌👌

I was thinking after the match on Wednesday that our next two home games will go a long way to deciding our season, much like those back to back home games against Scunthorpe and Bolton did in 2017.

The first half at home to Bradford (I think it was around Easter) was as perfect a football performance I've seen from the Blades in many a year.
I remember being with the match ball sponsors for that one. We were with a couple of Bradford lads who were pretty sound but quietly confident thinking we'd be below par as we were already promoted by that point I think ?
After the third went in before half time one of them turned to me and said "can they just stop it now".

Sheffield United are not Scunthorpe, Southend or Bradford and should not be measured against them in any way whatsoever
Except the table posted by the OP is the official process for measuring teams against each other, and we were on it along with Scunthorpe, Southend and Bradford

Clubs that have spent a sizeable percentage of their history in the fourth division and lower should not be measured against Sheffield United, and used as some kind of yardstick to show how great we are because these clubs eventually ended up back in the fourth division or lower.

Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Man Utd fans won't look at the table from April 2020 and use our misfortune to gauge how brilliant they are and how they should thank their lucky stars that they didn't sink as low as near the bottom of the Championship

I was just pointing out that we were actually being measured against them, and you had said that we shouldn't be measured against themnin any way.

Maybe I'm being pedantic, but those teams were finishing above us in previous seasons and its nice to positively reflect on pulling ourselves out of it.

Yes, mate I see what you are saying.

Those clubs have obviously fared worse than we have over the time since we were last grouped together.

But I think most people would have expected that.

I think if any club was going to go onto better things out of us Scunthorpe, Southend and Bradford it would have been us.

And if anybody was going to drop away from the Spurs, Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, and Sheffield United grouping from 2020 it would also have been us.

Citeh fans have unfortunately developed Billy big bollocks syndrome now they're winning things. Not too long ago they were in the third tier while their neighbours were winning trebles. I hope we don't do the same if we ever find ourselves in their situation.

I remember that silly cow who was on The Apprentice and married Neil Bishop was trying to give us shit on twitter before we played Scunny at the Lane.

We may have only drew, but we brushed Bolton aside the week after and never looked back.

That season was fucking incredible.

I distinctly remember us all shitting it the week before the match- how times have changed!

According to you we were heading for non league oblivion when Hecky was appointed. I guess you’ve changed your mind now. 😜

We might yet
The problem was never Hecky, it was Uniteds cheapskating as usual

If we don't go up, we're in bother.
Can anyone imagine this team without Berge, MGW, Bogle, Egan, Bash,

Every team in the championship will lose players due to covid etc reducing income streams.
our problems are compounded due to signing and renewing players contracts at relatively high levels and those players not retaining their value to enable them to be offloaded.

Remember how the Bolton fans reckoned they were going to finish above us and leave us trailing in their wake in the next few years? What happened to them again?

I agree we should enjoy the good times.

It's not really a sliding doors moment though. We weren't punching our weight and some of those were above average for them at the time.

All that has happened is we've all headed more to our normal performance levels.
