Last nights “attendance” of 24k was a great crowd, but there were probably anywhere between 20-24k in reality.

I’ve no idea what we receive in sky money for having the game on a Friday night, but the question as per the subject, is it financially worth it?

A lot of people had xmas parties and it was a freezing cold night. Pubs were busy before hand but Cremorne was no busier than normal.

I’d imagine that kiosk sales weren’t great last night either.

Then there’s the away support, dragging Bristol City fans up for a Friday night game means that they would have to set off mid afternoon and then wouldn’t be home until around 1am. Not great in the middle of December.

Was it also worth it for sky to show this game? Surely only interesting for Blades and Bristol City fans.

I don’t like Friday night games and neither do Coutts and Fleck!

It's easier to get a pre-match pint in the usual haunts!

On topic though, I think United trouser about £0.25m from Sky for the inconvenience to the fans.

I thought it looked like 24K to be honest, John Street looked a bit sad and they brought hardly anyone but I wouldn't say we'd fudged the numbers elsewhere. I said 23K before it got announced from what I could see.

Friday night games are wank though, especially at this time of year as you say. If it was up to me we'd be having as few night games as possible because it's arctic and I'm nesh.

Takes away from our total attendances anyway, Saturday afternoon we'd have got more even if it was still on TV.

Absolutely worth it! Only 15 quid including 5 pints of lager and a seat on the best motorbike in the house in Champs! #fairweathersupporter

I agree with the sentiment, but £250,000(?) covera a lot of punters at £15 average admission.

The Sky Sports payment to televised games in the Championship this season is

£100K paid to the home team and
£10K paid to the away team

The new Sky TV deal includes 7.45pm kick offs.. on wait for it.... Saturday nights.
