I was 9 at that time Pedro,a lot of us young uns used to stand at the front of the Kop,and hang on to the white fence.....I remember that game well
I went on the Kop with my Dad , quite a few Villa fans stood near us at the front made life interesting for a 10 year old
How is a 4-0 defeat memorable ?
I recall Robbie Savage once saying that the first game often defines the season. Not sure if that's true but you could certainly make a case with us. That said when we beat Notts County in Weirs first game things looked pretty good..........
Agree. I remember a paper predicted before the start of the 1970/71 season that the Blades would finish top of the second division and that Orient would finish bottom. First game of the season we lost 3-1 at Orient!Robbie Savage obviously doesn't remember the 3-0 win at Carlisle in 1980, followed with two more victories before it all started to go a bit wrong.
West Brom away was memorable for the fact we broke down on the A38 on the way down & missed it.
