May well do, has the experience after the stint in Norway. They could promote Binnion or Adkins appoint his own man. Will Brian Deane step into the U21 role now?

I rated all those apart from one McfhailColquhoun would be my next in line ,but Stan nowhere near for me. McPhail ,Eddy ,Maguire ,Holdsworth ,Page, Beesley ,Mcgrath ,Gayle all before Stan ,he wasn't my cup of tea .
I rate Powell highly and you should have seen my angry replies to posters who mention John Flynn (9 apps) and forgetting Powell (31 apps) when talking about the 1970/71 promotion team! What about Dave Powell. Injury deprived us of a top drawer Welsh defender. Tremendous reader of the game with good touch.
Eddy never played in centre back, McPhail was reckless at times (remember he gave away the penalty in that Walsall game) and Porterfield had enough of him, Holdsworth was a good ball player but wasnt that good defensively, Page was vastly over ratedColquhoun would be my next in line ,but Stan nowhere near for me. Keith Eddy could play centre back and did so on occasions in his career. Whether he had the odd game at centre back for the Blades is open to debate.Eddy never played in centre back, McPhail was reckless at times (remember he gave away the penalty in that Walsall game) and Porterfield had enough of him, Holdsworth was a good ball player but wasnt that good defensively, Page was vastly over rated
John Tudor played in CB for the Blades more times than Eddy didKeith Eddy could play centre back and did so on occasions in his career. Whether he had the odd game at centre back for the Blades is open to debate.
After seeing his free kick in that game, you can see why he was a CBGood luck too him will be gutted to see him go glad I was at his testimonial against Newcastle with him getting the captains armband for the last time even tho it was only for 5 minutes would like to see him back at the lane one day tho
Agree silent he would have been a blades legend if his career had not been taken by injury,he and Brian Smith are the two quickest defenders I have seen in a blades shirt and Smithy (who was still a rooky) too had his career taken by injury (broken leg he was very unlucky) both could catch pigeons.I rate Powell highly and you should have seen my angry replies to posters who mention John Flynn (9 apps) and forgetting Powell (31 apps) when talking about the 1970/71 promotion team!
For me, Colquhoun and Pemberton were the fastest CBsAgree silent he would have been a blades legend if his career had not been taken by injury,he and Brian Smith are the two quickest defenders I have seen in a blades shirt and Smithy (who was still a rooky) too had his career taken by injury (broken leg he was very unlucky) both could catch pigeons.
Yep they were quick silent but I have never seen 2 of our players so confident in a 1 on 1 chase for a long ball ,Powell and Smith could be leftFor me, Colquhoun and Pemberton were the fastest CBs
Nowt Fancy - Like Bassett.
Only one man has ever wanted him as his first team coach.
Appointed as a cost-cutting exercise, not on merit.
Had to be instructed, shamefully, to stop encouraging the youngsters to hoof it.
Been available for years for an up and coming lower league club to give him a start in management. No takers whatsoever. None.
No reason whatsoever to think he has any aptitude for football management. One self-proclaimed archaic, antiquated, discredited philosophy that makes it conclusively clear he has none.
Dinosaur.
Hoofer.
And the Bladey Blades want him back one day.....
Deluded, obsequious, embarrassing, Bladey claptrap.
Off you go Muckanettles. As for coming back, don't call us, we'll call you...
Do you thnk its fair to speak about a guy who captained our club to its highest league position in 4 decades in such disrespectful terms ?Nowt Fancy - Like Bassett.

Didn't we have a manager before who had a spell at GainsboroughTrinity? He didn't do too bad for us and several other Premiership clubs eitherIt's more likely he will end up at Gainsborough Trinity
A true leader amongst men and a great example of someone making the absolute most of his ability (take note Messrs Adams and Baxter).
Whilst it wasn't difficult to pick holes in aspects of his technical ability, any flaws were more than offset with the impact of his sheer physical presence. Hanson won almost every header last Saturday against Edgar; against Morgs he'd have been routinely propelled back over the halfway line, along with the ball.
The extent of his influence may be best measured by the effect of his absence on the 2010-11 season. Whilst it was never shaping up to be an epic campaign, neither did it look a relegation battle until Morgs was crocked after 8 games. We didn't - arguably couldn't - effectively replace him and central defence disintegrated without his leadership. His so-called replacement - Nyron Notworthy - arrived with a good reputation from Premier League Sunderland and never came close to filling the gap. Blades fans quickly realised what they'd lost and we were as good as relegated by April. Five years on and central defence remains a problem.
One of very few in the past decade to justify the phrase: Blades Legend.

Better record than any manager we have had sinceHe did well for us but his Premiership record is shite.

Bet you wouldnt say that stuff to his face
So if a player who has captained our club through its nost succesfull stint since the 70's doesnt deserve any respect from youI've had this before. I have not criticised his playing career, though some of what I'm reading clearly refers to some other Morgan than the very limited but wholehearted defender I saw.
I say he's a useless coach. I say he only got his job in a cost-cutting exercise. I say he he hasn't impressed in the job. I say, if he was any good, some ambitious lower league club would have noticed over the last few years and given him a start in management. I say his self-proclaimed philosophy "Nowt Fancy-Like Bassett" is anachronistic and discredited. I say he should have been sacked long ago if that's the most imaginative strategy he can contemplate. Yet you hoofers clearly see no problem. As I often say, you have your pitifully low standards; I'm very comfortable with mine.
Don't, incidentally, give me the "say it to his face" shite. I categorically assure you that I would. I have said unwelcome things to the faces of murderers, rapists and robbers on many occasions. You don't know me. Anyone who does would take your bet in an instant. If he wants to come and see me at my business address I could spare him half an hour by appointment, I'm sure. He need only ask.
Was it right for people on here to abuse Nigel Clough in obscene and abusive terms?
Bladey, Bladey hypocrisy. I despise it. I'll say what I think.

Who does ?
Which player would you invite into your office and speak to with such utter contempt ?
I would love to know
Seriously though i would love to know who pinchy does rate as a good manager/coach /playerPresumably we would've been much more successful if we had a captain with coloured boots and an asymmetrical haircut![]()

Remember how highly he thought of david weir
With no heart or passion for the clubWell it's ok to get hammered every week as long as you "play the right way" ain't it....
