Sir Chris The interview

I think its becoming clear from some of Slav's comments - signings promised and training facilities being an absolute shambles. Can't really say more than that but if you go back and read between the lines there's lots of stuff that wilder said when he was at the club that the prince didn't like, because it was true (and has come out as true since), some of the things that the prince has defended has also been proved to be a real bending of the truth...

And then if you follow some of the ITK journalists, some of the ITK people on here, some people on Social media, they all say the same things.

Don't also forget that Wilder didn't have 100% say on the bigger transfers... no manager in the top league seems to when there is so much cash involved.

If you feel like the heart and soul has been ripped out of the club since Wilder left, then you're probably on to something... If you feel like Wilder is to blame for all of where we are right now, then good luck to you in life.

That isn't the full interview that is next week.

Wilder seemed to totally overlook the impact of COVID though, he only started sabre rattling about the plan and sticking to the plan when we were knee deep in the shit and in the middle of the pandemic. The Brewster transfer was a big one and judging by what he just said in this interview he seemed fully behind us signing him.

As we have said many times since he left the truth is somewhere in middle.

Oh God, another Wilder wankfest thread.

He crawled out of the back door, get over it.

He's a wanker.
Suspects thread topic will wind him up
Opens and reads thread anyway
Confirms worst suspicions
Debates whether to move on or post vitriolic sweary rant
Inevitably decides to go with latter - can't slag Wilder off too often
Awaits angry responses with excitement
Gets a bite
Goes back for more ...........

Three reasons we went down last season, covid /no fans, no Henderson, no JOC. Fans in the ground, comfortable mid table finish

Can't be too sure regarding your last sentence.

Fans have been at BL so far this season and we are still winless.

If fans really do make such a difference we should be paid for going to football matches.

Just waisted 100 million plus on buying duds, primarily from the Market he has an understanding of !!
It's a slow day - what is this waisted you refer to? Is it a misplaced tailoring reference? Did Wilder select a style of waistcoat to suggest a slimline model? If so then damn the facts, let's crucify his choice of garment as well as his girth, I mean, c'mon, there are some things that matter, and a gentleman's waistcoat is one of them.

Yep not saying he didn’t make mistakes because he did, The covid thing was a big one. We were one of a few clubs that carried on full tilt in the first lockdown because like everyone else we didn’t know how long it would last for. I seem to recall that wilder said this himself last year.

As for Brewster, yeah Wilder backed it from what I understand, had Brewster hit the ground running it would’ve been great, but he also arrived very late after a long drawn out transfer…. Something Slav has already been frustrated with his the time it’s taken to get the deals done. Again like Wilder

We also seem to be playing more hardball on transfers though. In recent times we have paid the least amount to agents. We don't do our business that early and give in to what the selling club, agents etc want. PA said it himself some of the best deals get done in the last 2 weeks of the window.

This is when things started to look ugly

Think this interview gets blown a bit out of proportion, the Hull interview in 17/18 season was far more critical, yet arguably may have spurred some players on. He was kinda right with the majority of what was said on both occasions too, most didn’t have an issue at the time because we saw what he saw.

Sorry a chronic lack of goals was always going to catch up with us and Wilders failures to address tactics.
Rammers come good
JOC would have been found out tacticall.
Dont buy the fans excuse

Best manager we’ve ever had, followed by John Harris, and Dave Bassett.
Bassett was better then Wilder. The club was in a far worse state financially when Bassett took over. He took us up and kept us there on a shoestring budget. The style of football wasn't great at times but he did an unbelievable job. I am not old enough to remember Harris so i cant comment on him

I would have been to young to appreciate Harris even though I’d have been going to / supporting Dem Blades at the time Silent I’m just going by who I remember
Let’s face it, all 3 of them are absolute legends, and built my 3 favourite teams whilst watching United.
Happy to give it to Harris though, on reflection. That early 70’s team was something else.
Wilders team played some brilliant football at times, and 9th in the Prem from league 1 should never be forgotten,or underestimated.
Yes, it went wrong in the end, it always does. But for goodness sake, people do have short memories.
Let’s hope Slav beats em all, given time.

Yes that’s true…. He’s a man that doesn’t like spending money, that’s for sure.

I suppose the gamble is getting a deal in the last days of the transfer window or doing it early, spending potentially more but having that player training and getting fitter with the squad so that they can get familiar with the team and set up.

Summer of that first season in the prem appeared that we got lots of business done earlier

I don't think he minds spending money but he isn't going to spunk money needlessly.

Hang on, Wilder would have given us a better chance of going straight back up but the squad he built leaves us "nowhere to be seen"? Not sure I follow.

Shame the interviewer didn’t have the balls to ask

“Nowhere to be seen you say? Who spent over £100million building that squad Christopher?”

What a cunt - spunked all the budget on bang average players, gets mardys on, gets us relegated, fucks off with the last few mill in the bank, then comes out and says we’re “nowhere to be seen”

Would be like me telling the wife I’m leaving her and keeping the house as I’ve been seeing her friend, then sticking my fingers under her nose and saying “smell them” as she sobs into a picture of me and the kids

I don't think he minds spending money but he isn't going to spunk money needlessly.
I think based on this seasons transfer window, he’s failed to deliver the key players that Slav wants… so he could well end up chucking hundreds of millions away for the sake of a few million gamble just to save himself a bit…

let’s hope that isn’t the case and we get back on track with what we have

One poster reckons he should have been sacked after that interview 🤣 so that would be sacked with 2 games to go in our first season up while still in the race for Europe. History has been well and truly rewritten
