We'll see. If Verrips gets the nod v Man U then I can't see Moore wanting to hang around as no.3 keeper. Personally I'd play Moore as Verrips is an unknown quantity, but of course CWAK have seen him in training will make the final call.

I thought Moore was to blame for one of the goals v Man U at the Lane, certainly not all three as some are implying. He also made some decent saves.

Just think it's time to see if Verrips is any good in anger. We'll never know if we don't play him, he's 23 coming off the back of success so he's on the up and could be here long term whereas Moore will be off at the end of his contract most likely and as harsh as it sounds he has no future in the Premier League which is where the club see's themselves hopefully for the foreseeable.

The safe, choice would be Moore...
The other choice would be Verrips.
Which one do you think CW will choose?

Did you see Moore's performance in the home game v Man Utd?

I've been saying it for a while but he's miles away from being good enough. I would even have reservations about playing him in the Champ never mind the Prem.

Moore has been fit for a game or so and isn't back on the bench ahead of Verrips, so assuming that continues, Verrips.

I thought they'd get one each anyway, Moore at the Lane because he's been here so long, it's more special to get your first PL appearance at the Lane.

Great bloke, he was always going out of his way to donate his time and money to hospitals and charities, never expected praise for it, nor was it reported, he was always offering to help out where he could. He helped out alot of people, I really felt for him when Henderson joined because he just signed a new contract and was pushing for number 1. He knew he was then always going to be a number 2 keeper, he just said ‘when you have a man u keeper, you know why and what it means for you’. Top bloke, role model professional and wish him best of luck. Footballer and Gentleman. Thanks for everything you did pal !

The lack of bitterness from reserve keepers always amazes me. It's an accepted role being a 2nd/3rd choice keeper for some, basically a training partner/fluffer for the 1st choice. You wouldn't get the same with outfield players.

And some make a great living out of it!
Best reserve keeper ever - Richard Wright?!!

Does his time at Ipswich a disservice 240 games up in 6 years until 2001 and then only another 139 more in the next 15 is some living.

the true king of this is Richard Kingston however 165 games in a 20 year career, plus 90 caps for Ghana. Sat on the bench every week and ever 6 weeks flown back to Ghana top play for the national team

Played in 5 African nations
1 Olympics
2 world cups

Was absolutely needed in League 1. I was one of those that thought Long wasn't great, but good enough - Moore just brought some much needed solidity and vocal leadership at the back, after the dire start.

His most memorable moment though? The save against Wednesday surely. Play should have been stopped - per the laws of the game if a GK is on the floor injured it's an immediate break of play (no need to kick the ball out), but he leapt from the ground and got a paw to it.

If he's happy to have a drop in wages, I assume there'll be plenty of League 1 clubs ready to snap him up.

Really nice tribute that. Seemed to be a really popular lad in the dressing room & as you say, a top professional.

Best of luck to him. He's a very solid goalkeeper and I hope he finds somewhere he can thrive.

If he's happy to play for free I can think of one 1st Division club that might be interested. And if he joins them he can look forward to taking 3000 to QPR not next season though for obvious reasons.

What ever he decides to do good luck Simon.

I wonder why he was never first choice? 🤣

Last time a saw Simon (in person) he was letting 3 in, in 7 (or was it 11) minutes against Man U and looking completely out of his depth.

Problem is, that’s what he’ll be remembered for, that’s just how it is.

In reality, decent keeper, loyal Blade, much respect for him and hope he does well in future.

In the game where David de Gea let in three against Sheffield United, one of which was scored by amateur stunt driver and part time pizza connoisseur Lys Mousset, and looked completely out of his depth, you mean? ;)
