Eastwood out injured for 4 months, also on loan in Scotland.
Good point.
In that case I would keep Moore and loan out Eastwood (when fit) and Verrips.

If he was 36/37 maybe yes. He's just turned 30 and as a keeper is coming into his prime. He's also just seen 2 keepers brought in that are higher in the pecking order. That got to hurt, surely.
He still went down in installments though...
or just sit there nice and quiet picking up your dosh, plus a cut of the hefty bonuses, then walk away in 10 months time out of contract for another pile of dosh - probably warming somebody else's bench. Nice work if you can get it!
I wouldn't disagree but maybe a years extension then renegotiate again if we're aiming to get him onto the coaching staff?Sharp made positive contributions to the side last year and I'd guess, does a lot of work behind the scenes.
I don't rate him as a keeper. I don't know him as a person, but by all accounts he's a decent guy. But have some professional pride man. You are in the prime of your goalkeeping life. Go out there and show em what you've got!I’m getting the impression you really don’t like him
Agee, it’s a unique position. Someone of Moore’s ability can only realistically hope to be second or third choice at this level, so his options are to play the role of reserve keeper and hope to pick up the odd appearance in the early rounds of the cup or when the first choice keeper is injured or suspended or to drop down the leagues to be no. 1.I think it depends. Imagine if the choices were
Being paid £7K a week at a PL club working with good mates every day having a laugh.
Travelling to PL stadia every week supporting your team mates, family settled in the area, loving the Yorkshire country side and city.
Negatives are unlikely to play a 1st team game but also zero pressure.
He could go to an upper league 1 side (like a Portsmouth) on £5K a week.
Upheavel to his family and social network, travelling to shitty small stadiums with small crowds, worse training facilities.
New team mates So needs to make new friends from scratch but will likely play regular football.
Depends on ambition but I put happiness above ambition...so I’d choose option 1 and stay at SU....unless a fantastic offer arrived.

Doesn’t matter how he went down, he would never have saved it and neither would any of the keeper on our books at the time.
(for what it’s worth he didn’t go down in ‘instalments’ and that completely contradicts your original comment that he went down too quickly).
To be fair in the video you didn't see lots of other players like McBurnie, Moose, JOC etc. Are they still training in small groups?Neither him or Verrips at training today
They showed keeper training though, all the keepers usually train togetherTo be fair in the video you didn't see lots of other players like McBurnie, Moose, JOC etc. Are they still training in small groups?

Moore seems like a lovely fella and by all accounts is a good influence in dressing room and very popular member of the squad. If we’re being honest, League One is probably his level so it will depend on whether he want regular first team football or being part of the premier league circus and all the trappings that comes with it.
I’d be happy either way, he doesn’t owe us anything and would probably be allowed to leave for a free or nominal fee if he wanted to move on. If he decides to stay he would add something to the squad in terms of his personality and presence on the training pitch.
Fair comment Barney. He was very good in his first season but I guess CWAK had their doubts as they quickly looked to upgrade when we were promoted, first with Blackman and then with Hendo. I might been doing his a disservice saying he is L1 standard as I don’t recall him being out of his depth when he was competing with Blackman in our first season back in the champ.Largely agree with what you say but although he's often seen as a League 1 standard player, the last time he played there he.
did make the PFA Team of the season..
Also in that team were Kieron Freeman, Duffy, Fleck and Billy. God knows why JOC and Coutts weren't included!
Andy Giddings on Twitter stating Rotherham close to signing 2 keepers 1 perm 1 loan , maybe Moore or Verrips is one of these?
That's jinked it.So I’m guessing that you have already made your mind up that he is a player who is happy to pick a wage up for very little in return.
I’ll present a little scenario. It comes to November, Foderingham has pulled a hamstring, Ramsdale then gets sent off during a game we are holding a 1-0 lead with 10 minutes to to, who do you think Chris Wilder would want in the net?
Sometimes we forget that there is more to life than playing football.
How many turn up to work to earn money and for no other reason ? Isn’t that what the third choice keeper does ?
Kids at school and wife / partner at work are reasons also not to move.
Maybe, just maybe, he likes living in Sheffield.

Just heard Warne talking about 2 keepers now, reckon Moore could be the loan one maybe with a view to buy (once the contract is out) he'll do ok at that level.Andy Giddings on Twitter stating Rotherham close to signing 2 keepers 1 perm 1 loan , maybe Moore or Verrips is one of these?

In that scenario, I'd still rather put on the wet behind the ears but highly rated youngster like Dewhurst on over Moore.
It's a gamble obviously but we've seen enough of Moore to know he's not up to it in the Premier League so continuing to have a situation where there is a chance he would play is something we should avoid even if he's the most lovely man and the most model professional.
I don't think Wilder would be ecstatic about having to put him on in your hypothetical scenario.
Don't mind him being here if he's well down the order/has no chance of being called on for a league game and doesn't mind though.
Well Wilder always chose Blackman over Moore but I though this was a mistake based on Wilder really liking a big keeper. The Millers 'loaner' is Blackman according to my millers supporting mate..
