That’s a bad miss by Campbell…he created his chance well but that should be 0-4.

I'm not saying I agree with this, but let's be honest many people share his view that Wednesday are a bigger club.
Maybe it's less important to me as I've not lived in Sheffield for 45 years, but who cares who is "bigger" anyway?
You can change the criteria to suit an argument one way or another, so it's meaningless in my vThese are absolutely my thoughts. So many cretins arguing over who's bigger, who's best, like a couple of 12 year olds arguing who's better, Ronaldo or Messi. I mean we're both fairly large clubs that are well supported, but have been shafted by terrible owners. Despite this, it seems to take up an incredibly high percentage of posts on here- mainly by people obsessing over the pigs whilst claiming that they're obsessed with us.
Of course Wednesday are bigger if you base it on fanbase, that is just demographics. United are the biggest team in their territory. Wednesday the biggest in south Barnsley and all the places in between. But whomever buys the club has to turn a big fanbase from south yorkshire pit villages into performances on the pitch.
Big potential... After spending 100m/200m to get them to an average Championship set up aye..To be fair. They are a club with a big potential.
And right now you could get them at a good price if you are willing to plough in 10s of millions and be patient. You can possibly realistically see them have a bright future. How good, who knows. They are not part of England footballs elite as some of them may think though.
And look at how tough it's been for Leeds to get "back to where they belong"
Are they bigger than us? Completely depends on what metric you want to use.
Ultimately it's down to individual perception. I would say that most fans/followers of English football who are older than 30 years plus they would mostly say yes.
Younger fans and people from outside of England possibly would say us.
What I would say is, they were the bigger club undoubtedly for a long while through the 80-90s. And that our fanbase has quite markedly increased on average overall since 2000. At least the fans that consistently go have. We have also built on infrastructure better. (Although way more to do still)
At the end of the day It doesn't matter really.
I'd class us as much bigger than Brentford and Bournemouth as a club. And similar to Fulham, Palace and Brighton.
None of them care diddly as to if we are bigger or similar size to them.

What rubbish Simon Jordan talks!
How many from PrestonIncorrect Simon….Blades much the bigger club ….only 22,000 at swillsborough today..can’t blame Chansari now
I live in "real Barnsley" and can categorically state that outside Penistone/Wortley (which tend to class themselves as Sheffield anyway), Wendies tend to be a very rare species indeed.Of course Wednesday are bigger if you base it on fanbase, that is just demographics. On the same basis as us being a bigger team than Midweek ie current indications, we really are not a bigger team than either Palace, BHA or Fulham. We may not be truly massive but we do play ourselves and our potential down sometimes in a kind of reversal of pig ideology. Maybe that has become a bit self fulfilling.
We're a bigger club than Palace, Brighton and Fulham.
Spot on. Too many clowns have equated the size of the ground with the support. has never been near it. One of the great grounds but the %age attending has always been pathetic.I actually think Hillsborough itself is what gives them this idea of "massiveness". But let's be right, it's not the size it is (was) because of Wednesday, it's because the FA at some point saw fit to invest in it for the purposes of semi-finals, Euros etc. The average attendance numbers prove they can't consistently fill it. Sure, on occasions, they get up to c35k, but I hazard a guess that if we, or other teams in similarly sized cities, had big stand out games, we'd get similar numbers.
