What rubbish Simon Jordan talks!

=Sheffield United have been ahead on attendances of Wednesday for the last 20 years. With Wednesday's only attendance wins were for six seasons when Sheffield United dropped to league one.
=United have had four seasons in the premier league, Wednesday have had three separate stints in League One.
=United's ground has been thoroughly modernised and we have just purchased a new training ground. Wednesday do not own their run down ground, which has major safety concerns and has not been upgraded since the Euro's in 1996. It floods regularly and their very old training facility was set up 1980.
=United purchased for £100 million, Current bid for Wednesday £20 million.

Jordan then goes on to say he was considering a bid but didn't want to line Chansiri's pockets for the ground as he would receive 25% of value because of administration rules. What a B*****CKS of an excuse for not bidding!!

I'm not saying I agree with this, but let's be honest many people share his view that Wednesday are a bigger club.

Maybe it's less important to me as I've not lived in Sheffield for 45 years, but who cares who is "bigger" anyway?

You can change the criteria to suit an argument one way or another, so it's meaningless in my view.

United are the bigger club by every metric. Everything you would measure a club size on United win hands down. You can't use a handful more trophies won when the world was in black and white as a gauge nor can you use a delapidated stadium that's too big for them as another.

He has an obsession with them. He thinks they're this 'massive' club but he doesn't believe it strongly enough to actually get his 'consortium' to put a bid in for them.

I just wish someone would call him out on it and state a few facts to him.

My nob is bigger than Leonardo Di Caprio's but he's currently shagging models and I'm not.

I'd rather be watching my club in the Prem than telling everyone how "big" we are.
Please can we have some proof of that (either that your knob is bigger or that you're not shagging models)?!

I do love a good analogy, I tip my hat to you Sir!

The thing is, that the first time you hear him hold forth, he sounds very credible but it's nearly 16 years since he 'left' Palace.

Being such a top dynamic tycoon and so knowledgabe on football finance, you may want to check out how big a profit he made on the sale of Palace.

Oh.......er.......they went into administration on his watch, which gives him more in common with Chansiri, than you might expect.

Gobshite, clinging onto a haircut from the 1990s, and talks utter bilge at the top of his voice - let’s face it if he was born in Sheffield he’d 100% be a Wednesdayite.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he has a pair of Hillsborough brogues in his wardrobe (some say the perfect accompaniment to piss stained joggers).

This mindset they have of we’re big, we’re relevant, we’re important is one of the reasons Chansiri lasted so long. It feeds the Deludamol and means they roll over and get their belly tickled by everyone who tells them what they want to hear. Let them have it.

Well it doesn't sound like chansiri is going quietly of his solicitor is Nick De Marco

I wish he would put money where his mouth is and take them over, it would be hilarious. Failed chairman of a smaller club than both, he would be the grand delusioner top of the tree, they would lap him up whilst hes destroying them. As thats what he would do. He has no business sense or any sense of that note.

He either doesnt have the funds or full he thinks or he doesnt belive whay hes saying & thats why he hasnt gone through with it.

A lot of people need to remember this guy despises wilder more than pigs, what ever reason is, which leads him to dislike us & so he over eggs it on the pigs side & plays up to them.

He publicly criticised Wilder for walking out 1st time around after the chairman backed him .Ive got no issues with that .
He has cooled his stance though over the last few years ....

The last time Wednesday averaged over 30,000 for a season was 1967/68 …… so the best part of 60 years ago. Think we’ve done it 3 x since then.

I have to credit them though ….the myth their fans give that they could average 40,000 in the Premier League seems to be believed by a lot of people - but it had absolutely no factual evidence.

The bigger club argument is the biggest load of bollocks in football.

There’s no measure of what it means other than someone’s opinion. Everyone compares argues and twists it to their own agenda.

At times in their history Wednesday have been bigger than united. Those times are fading into the history book with a big percentage of their current fan base too young to remember.

We are ‘bigger’ than them in pretty much every relevant modern metric but who actually cares (apart from Wednesday fans and Simon Jordan)

We are more valuable than them

Our squad is better and more valuable than theirs

Our revenue is higher than theirs

We have more followers on every social media platform than them so are currently more viewed and well known than them

Our facilities are better than theirs

Our academy is better than theirs

We have a higher average attendance than they do

We are above them in the league and have played in the top flight a lot more recently than them

I can make an argument as long as my arm for us being bigger than them if I really want to, then one of them can come along and remind us they won a trophy a lifetime ago and they had a few years of being famous when I was in primary school.

Football is unrecognisable compared to what it was 25 years ago. It’s changed so much. It’s far more drilled and scientific now than it ever was… which is another reason for not sucking off players from previous generations as there’s not even any guarantee players from that era would make it in football these days when the standard is just far higher these days than it ever was before.

To be fair. They are a club with a big potential.
And right now you could get them at a good price if you are willing to plough in 10s of millions and be patient. You can possibly realistically see them have a bright future. How good, who knows. They are not part of England footballs elite as some of them may think though.
And look at how tough it's been for Leeds to get "back to where they belong"

Are they bigger than us? Completely depends on what metric you want to use.
Ultimately it's down to individual perception. I would say that most fans/followers of English football who are older than 30 years plus they would mostly say yes.
Younger fans and people from outside of England possibly would say us.

What I would say is, they were the bigger club undoubtedly for a long while through the 80-90s. And that our fanbase has quite markedly increased on average overall since 2000. At least the fans that consistently go have. We have also built on infrastructure better. (Although way more to do still)

At the end of the day It doesn't matter really.

I'd class us as much bigger than Brentford and Bournemouth as a club. And similar to Fulham, Palace and Brighton.
None of them care diddly as to if we are bigger or similar size to them.

Are we bigger than Cystal Palace ?
Genuine question

Not currently (in my opinion)

They’re worth upwards of £500m versus the £105m we sold for recently.

They’re an established premier league club with a vastly superior squad to us

It’s got to be a fluid measurement or basically every club in existence could argue they’re big. Blackburn won the premier league does that make them bigger than Spurs? Nah of course it doesn’t. This is why it’s such a shite argument.

I'm surprised how this thick chump with a posh accent reels in the feckless. Bloke is an intelligence void, a posh buffoon. Howeven given we voted for a posh buffoon to be PM not so long ago, maybe I shouldn't be so surprised 🤣🤣
