Signings that you were excited by at the time but disappointed you in the end

Yes, Glyn Hodges was the signing that turned our season also Tracey's return from injury before Xmas was a boost. In Vinnie's book he said some things to belittle the club and was full of himself. I cant stand him!
Wasn’t Hodges funded in part by some Blades revival money or have I dreamt that?

I have some weird dreams…

Off the top of my head mine would be:

Brewester
Woodburn
Hayles
Britton
Brian Howard
Hendrie
Brayford (permanent)
Luke Freeman
Horsfield
David Johnson on loan

I’ve probably missed loads others, but these are the ones who stick out the most.

Ben Woodburn, gave me PTSD when we signed McAtee but in reality they were worlds apart

He got 9 goals and 9 assists in his first season with us from right wing.
Did he?? I think the thing was, I'd been bigging him up and raving about him for years before and when we finally signed him he just didn't seem the same exciting player, but he obviously was still effective

The quality of Wilder's signings seemed to be in inverse proportion to the amount of time he spent chasing them.
January 2018 was a bad transfer window to say the least. The other incoming players were James Wilson (mercifully on loan) and Lee Evans.

All of them had left the club either permanently or on loan by the end of the next transfer window.

Jesus wept Wilson was wank. He was subbed on v pigs at home and billy left on the bench. Madness

In fairness to Lee Evans, that goal against Middlesborough wasn't bad!

Also Colin Hill returning from injury. Was an underrated defender who made a real difference.....

Well you were a lot closer to it than I was, though that’s not how it looked from the kop. If you’d said the same about Glyn Hodges I’d agree 100 per cent.

Mind you, Jones missed 4 games after we signed him. We won all 4, including the 7-2 v Oldham and 4-1 v Southampton. I always thought this was telling.
In Danny Hall's Bassett's Blades book, Bob Booker is quoted as saying he had no issues with Vinnie coming and taking his place and he definitely helped them to stay up. But a paragraph later there's a unnamed player mentioned that Vinnie was like Marmite in the dressing room, be interesting what the split between love and hate was then.
