Nope. Focus on winning the title first. Actual real solid silver stuff, the likes of which I've not seen before.

I think some focus must turn to new contracts this coming week. Any new contracts can be offered and sorted before end of the season then. Giving us a couple weeks advantage on recruitment.

Then our players will be signed up meaning we can rival other teams offers for there own players.

My biggest worry is goals.
We don't score enough from midfield.
I almost posted to say that a 20+ goalscorer in league 1 doesn't equate to a 20+ one in the championship meaning Billy might not cut it next year but I've just looked at his record.
He's scored 15 goals in the championship twice, both with a very average Doncaster side.
Maybe a partner who could also get in the teens and a few midfield goalscoring additions and my worries could almost be put to rest early doors.
A partner for O'Connell should probably be the top of our list.
I still like the look of Harley Dean but I think they are still too similar. We basically need an older head with experience and brilliant leadership and positional awareness. I'd love Jags back but realistically I'd like someone cheaper and with a bit more pace.

we need 2 defenders, a midfielder in the mould of Monty (in that they break down play. Coutts and Fleck need to be able to play their game without doing that job)

It is. You need to take into account that this is S2. Many are uncomfortable with quality. It affects their nerves. They are much calmer with a non-footballing, shambolic shadow-chaser or two in the team.

Funnily enough a mate of mine ex Liverpool player but a big Everton fan told me that there were big rumours about Jags coming back to us . Not sure myself whether he would be what we need and more to the point whether we coulld afford him > No smoke wthout fire though ?

To have an impact next season, I think we need a couple to add to the squad and then 2 or 3 of the quality to make a real difference, possibly one in each department, with an emphasis on pace. This based on 4 or 5 leaving the club

One things for sure, promotion will highlight just how committed the board are with regards to this apparent next level of investment
