Just been looking at a signed football that I've had for years and noticed that Chris Wilders autograph is proudly on it along with Dave Bassett. Must be 90-92. Tyring to make out other signatures but they're all to scribbly. There's one that lolls lkke it says John Winter but dont remember him? Any ideas? Good old days of division 1!!

From memory of the team posters that were on my bedroom wall at the time, we had Julian Winter as a player and also Keith Mincher, youth coach.
Julian was a junior player that maybe made a couple of appearances max, think he went to Preston?

He was a bigger crock than John Ebbrell and James Wallace put together. Think we signed him from Huddersfield

Julian Winters it is then. If you look at the squad for 90 - 92 he isnt listed so must have been missed off. I'll try and work out how to post a pic but it's on the shelf in my sons room and he's gone to bed so will do it tomorrow

So Mr Winters isnt mentioned on the squad list cos he had a career ending ligament injury before the season started. Ball must have been signed at a pre season open day.

Julian Winter is a top bloke, met him several times and he was unlucky with injury, also knew Wilder around the same time, wonder if he remembers me 7 balling him at pool.

Looks like his current job is Chief Executive at Huddersfield.

Julian Winter missed the start of the 1989-90 due to glandular fever and when he recovered I saw him play in a reserves match at the Lane where he got injured in a tackle. After treatment he got up , carried on for a few more minutes and another tackle made the injury worse and he was carried off. Dont think he played another match

If I recall correctly he (Julian Winter) was a combative midfielder signed from Huddersfield. He got injured early on and played hardly any games for us. He was sold off or pensioned off after that. He was also on our Board a few years ago wasn't he?

I think I was thinking of Richard Lucas.
