He gets yellow cards cos he is way too far off the pace and the only way he can make up for it is to foul the player. He's not nasty - he is just slow - too slow to play an effective role in this team. I don't see him as a reducer or a playmaker. He just seems to be there to make up the numbers. He's not particularly good in the air - certainly no threat at set pieces. There must be a lot of stuff that goes on that nobody sees cos there is precious little during the game.
Then again no one else in he squad seems to make tackles like that n most of the time they may not be needed but they stop attacks because ref spends 2 minutes giving hm a card and calling people back for the free kick so we don't get caught out by them even though we do sometimes

So we have 21 Wednesday fans on this forum. Good to have a number

Yeah, I get the premis - but he's not taking "one for the team" he's genuinely too slow to make an effective tackle as he is no longer able to keep up with play.

ITT: People getting upset because other people go against their viewpoint on a poll that's obviously srs bizns.

OT: I'll admit to not seeing enough of the player to give an informed opinion.

I have he's garbage

We spent the last few seasons moaning that Doyle wasn't good enough and now we've replaced him with someone worse.

I personally am content with letting Adkins build his own team over the summer and having a crack with a side he's put together. If he does that and we're still on the slide/haven't improved by the middle of next season, I will echo the sentiments of the Adkins Out clan.

Having said that, he's got two big decisions from the off. One is Hammond, the other is McEveley.

Hammond simply isn't good enough. Pace is a huge, huge issue in this squad and he has absolutely none. The number of times we had men in decent space at Millwall and didn't take advantage of it by moving the ball faster was fucking infuriating. Look at dem poll results. If he signs permanently, Adkins will be hitting the rocks before he's left the bay.

McEveley has been crap for the majority of his time here. You could argue that he wasn't playing his best position for much of it, but overall, not good. Over the last few weeks he's played his best stuff for us and he's begging for that new contract. I personally wouldn't want to give him said contract, because I don't trust him to keep up the form he's shown recently and I don't generally think he's good enough. If he's backup to a better LB then I'll live with it, but if he's to be first choice next season, it'll be another big question mark over the gaffer's head.

So two big decisions there for me. Hope he gets 'em right.

Adkins' "loyalty" to Hammond will undoubtedly cost him his job, whether that is this season or next
