Micky Mellon has left Shrewsbury for Tranmere. Unfortunately it probably means that the next manager's first home match will be against us on October 18th. They will be fired up for that game!
We can't and mustn't lose to a team whose leader is called "Mellon".

Odd one this in many ways. Seems like the Shrews board wanted him out but didn't want or couldn't afford to pay the compo whilst Mellon himself wouldn't resign. Then Tranmere came in knowing of this situation and Shrewsbury ended up losing a manager they didn't want whilst not having to pay compo .
Maybe they should change their name to SHREWDsbury . You can have that one, I'm full of jokes
You seem to have misunderstood the term 'has left Shrewsbury'![]()

You are correct. Statistics show that there is no such evidence and the so-called "honeymoon" period is a myth. Problem is, Uncle Kev didn't know this, so he sacked Warnock and Wilson to see if it was true!Having a new manager didn't help us. I think "new manager syndrome" is a bit of a myth.

Statistical evidence shows that new manager syndrome is effective in 91 out of 92 league clubs.
Not sure Bath Blade was being entirely serious. Not according to what I've read - I will try and find the name of the book but it's all about myths in football and one of the biggest ones is about this. I guess it depends what you call "effective" but the book is very well researched and based on statistical evidence and totally explodes this myth.
