Isn't Barrie right footed why do we have to keep playing with inverted wingers defenders just show them outside until the inevitable turn and pass back. we could try Brooks on the left and Barrie on the right and try getting behind defences that way we might get a few balls into the box for Campbell and Cannon or Oné to get onto.
Absolutely spot on. At least swap the wingers for a time in the game if it's not working. Both Brooks and Barry come inside every time. So predictable.

Too early for me still. The vast majority of this is on the board. We need to see something in the performances soon though or it could spiral

Absolutely, sack him over the next 24 hrs, it maybe harsh after 3 games, but with one week left in the transfer window, in my opinion, we need to. It will be hard for any new manager to bring in the type of players required to compete at Championship level now but stick with Selles and it could be extremely costly for the club in more ways than one.

Survival mid table mediocracy is now looking quite positive after the start and cluelessness shown buy the current coach (the post-match interview was an absolute joke to finish off today’s proceedings).

Selles was clearly brought in to be a head coach and not a "manager". We are still making moves and the transfer window is still open. Why do some people have such an itchy trigger finger?

The manager is not responsible for bringing in players. This should not be hard to understand.

I've voted not yet. Don't think this situation is his fault, for me it sits with the board and their complete lack of football knowledge. How many games do we give him though. 1? 2? 3?... Personally if a few more decent bodies come in next week and he can't get anything from Boro then he goes

RS was doomed the moment they hired him. You can't get rid of a manager who got 92 points and expect to equal or surpass them. But did I expect to us to fall this hard this fast, absolutely no

Yep, and I was suggesting that this needs to temporarily change with the right manager to get through the season, this shouldn't be hard to understand either. Then bring in a DOF, or what ever they want to do.

Reactions: SWB
It's the performances that are the most concerning.
I think we could have tolerated some losses but it's the manner of them which are so damning.
The players have no idea what they are doing,
there doesn't seem to be a plan there's no tactics at all
Team selection and formation is bizarre.
The players look clueless, lack desire and leadership.
There's no structure to our play we look totally out of sink
Sorry Roygbiv not might look like a Mr Jelly view from but it saves me typing what is so obvious.

He promised “vertical footballl, “high press on front foot”, “chaos attacking”.

Does anyone know what those are cause I’m not sure we’re seeing any of it. I cannot fathom a system, several times today players were pressed to the sideline and were shrugging their shoulders cause no one had moved up or found space. It’s frightening we are looking so bad.

Today was one of the worst performances I have ever seen from a Blades team. Other bad ones were full of sh!t average players but we’ve got quality out there running round like headless chickens. It’s starting to show in the body language.

It was Bassett's final (half) season. The season of the McDonald takeover.
We started very badly. The fifth of those losses was at West Brom. We went down 3-1 and it really could have been more. Every time West Brom went forward they just poured through us. A bit like now🤣.
I'm not sure the side was much weaker than now. It included Kelly in goal, Blake, Veart, Hodges, Gayle, Nilsen, Ward, Whitehouse. Not a weak side by any second division standard of that time. We were expected to be challenging for promotion, but everything around the club just felt wrong at that time.
Gayle and Hodges were past their best, so were Gage, Rogers and Gannon although Gage had a good season the one before. Nilsen was only average in my view, Flo was arguably worse in the championship than in the top flight which was strange.

Blake class as was Kelly and Whitehouse but the team needed some big expenditure which it got under McDonald but of course they'd sacked Harry by then. But you're right, no one expected us to be as bad as we started.

An interesting article on Selles at Reading but only up to the end of his first season. He did even better in the second season after a decent first season. I wouldn't mind 4141 as a formation actually which is mentioned in the article. He did play 4231 at Hull too and at Reading. I'm not sure why he thinks 433 suits our squad especially with no defensive mid in there. But the article offers some hope perhaps.

I can see why some people want to use their itchy trigger finger, I was asking why some people have it, i.e. have zero patience whatsoever
Many people have patience some don't, and a lot of it comes down to the context/circumstances of what patience is being required for.

"entitled fan base" I have just read somewhere on here, WTF, how any stupid leftwing idiot can come out with statement regarding SUFC fans being entitled is unbelievable. The football history of this club tells the story of anything but entitlement. Good old cold weekday nights in Div 4 told a lot of us that we are not an entitled fan base, but even then the proud Sheffield people stood in the cold/rain had standards of what they expected from the football side of things, which didn't happen at times (a lot of times), but we have never been entitled.

The sad thing is this bloke has been shite everywhere he's managed bar reading in the pub league . It's not like we have nicked a gem noone else has spotted with some magic ai. I gave it the " wilder took 3 games to get going " but it's not looking good .

Graham potter will be available soon.

I would not want him as our manager. Don't know why, but I just don't think it would work a

They may have been past their best at premier league level, but at second tier level I think they were still regarded as good players. It was not a team that should have been down at the basement end of the table. Everything just seemed off kilter during that time.
McDonald came in, Bassett left, Kendall arrived and by our standards a bit of money was spent. But there wasn't a dramatic improvement in our league form for quite a while. Kendall didn't get a league win for a good 6 or 7 games. I recall a lot of draws.
Blake was great. A 50% strike rate in the league, including sub appearances.

I've gone with yes, because after these first few games a really can't see when a win is going to come. He seems tactically inept and out of his depth. Get Cooper or Dyche in asap

The number of games isn't relevant. It's the fact that the players and Selles are just not on the same page.
Whether the tactics are too complex or the players just don't feel comfortable following them.
There also seems elements of disruption and dissent within the squad.
Jack Robinson should be relieved of the captaincy and shipped out ASAP.
I voted not yet, but I feel drastic action needs to be taken sooner rather than later.
UTB !!!

Not yet.

And, if we do, we might find that good managers aren't particularly interested in replacing him. I think the consensus around football was that Wilder was unlucky to lose his job. If Selles only gets 4 games, these owners are going to get a reputation as being ones to avoid.
Not even close. Wilder bottled it after wasting £10m on a striker in January then flat out refused to work with the experimental recruitment. Selles was brought in on the cheap with the view to bin him off early doors if it went wrong. You can tell he’s on borrowed time because he’s now talking about how it’s all his fault and to blame him. He’s out of his depth and there’s a reason he’s never accomplished anything in his career. It’s because he’s wank.

As opposed to bringing in someone not "on the cheap" (like who?) who could also have lost 4 on the bounce and bin them off too?

Given the minimal backing Selles has had in the transfer market, you'd have to rule out any "proven" or "respectable" manager joining us now. COH look like they've barely a pot to piss in, quite bizarre that they decided to buy a Championship/Prem yoyo team like us, can't see how they would be an appealing employer to any manager with some pedigree.

If it's true about Cooper being totally disinterested in the summer that indicates he knew something in advance. He was immediately vindicated

It’s not just the defeats it’s the performance..it looks to me like the players are having none of him . He looks out of his depth tbh & his stubborn insistence on playing 433 when the midfield is getting overrun isn’t helping his cause at all .
We definitely need some new faces in this week but if I’m honest I don’t know if that’s gonna even turn us around .
We look a shadow of the side from last season , it was 55 mins before we had a shot on target yesterday

Even if we have more of a go second half, we gave Millwall, whose best player we are courting and didn’t play, 16 shots, at home.

Disgusting

Some of the very same people who were criticising anyone slaggjng RND off after Bristol and saying he could have "mental health" issues are the same ones on here asking for a man to lose his job.
Lose his job?! It’s football I’m afraid… one of the most cut throat industries there is! He’s a big boy, he’ll get a handsome severance package… he’ll be fine!
