So yes, I stick by the decision even if it's only for the reason that I do not want us to become a club who changes their manager every single season. This does not make a successful team.

But sometimes keeping the manager does not make a succesful team either.

Indeed... but we're going to get the stage where we run out of managers who would actually come to the club if we go down that track.

Don't get me wrong, I am not stating we should be sacking Blackwell.

Blackwell will still get us promoted in my opinion (unless he keeps being bullish and insisting on playing Monty and Speed together along with some other things) but I just don't see him bringing the prolonged "success" that we aspire to require.

The last 5/6 appearances have been frankly dreadful (I can't really comment on the Norwich game) and something needs to be done, however Blackwell is digging his heels in as if he has something to prove with getting a good victory with the current defensive mindness.

He is quickly diminishing all the good work he did at the back end of last season with his long ball tactics, he didn't employ these last year, so why have we started?

Lets hope he puts out an attack minded team on Saturday..... another bad result and performance though, and I can see the Blades being booed off the pitch.

Just wondering how people feel on this now?

I maintain... fine getting rid of him but who would we get in and would we face the same problem this time next year... the initial run in form and luck has run out and we're miserable again?

I have to disagree - I think we'd stand a hell of a better chance of staying up with Blacky than King Neil - both managers have proven their motivational skills yet people fail to see the tactical ability Blacky has. I believe this to be his strength over Warnock because he has the nouse tactically which Neil perhaps lacked

I also need to bring this one back..... how many times has a Blackwell team play a Warnock team and won?

This is the problem, there isn't many good managers about like there was at a time when Blackwell first took over. I still maintain we should have looked at Billy Davies when Robbo was first sacked...... the proof is in the pudding (nottingham) as they say.

Blackwell is from the school of warnock, but warnock was the headmaster. The display against donny was one of the worst displays i have seen united produce for a very long time. His tactical awareness of the game must be 0, didn't it ever apply to the fool that playin a couple of midfielders that had that little extra quality could have opend up donny up, and whats up with playin with wingers????? Then he puts on ward who was never gonna have an impact on the game when were launching balls into the air. Then to come on radio sheffield and say we out worked and out played donny in every department is an absoloute joke. Nice to see three ex blades scored aswell last night STEAD 2 SPRING 1 and BT 1, more of blackwells fantastic dealings in the transfer market!!!!!

Regarding the strikers, maybe as you put it Neil Warnock is the headmaster.
Was'nt it Neil that sold Billy sharp? Well for me Billy sharp is out of his depth in this division and neil was bang on. Billy is into his second season and done nothing apart from the hat-trick against QPR, hardly prolific?
It's a pity last night we did'nt have Hulse, Stead, Beattie and maybe Shelton instead of Sharp and co. Our once formidable strike force is now a farce.

Wonder if Billy Sharp is still happy with Blackwell being given a long term contract.
