On the first penalty, the first contact was well outside the area. If first contact had have been inside the area, the Man of The Match would've gone down straight away. But he continued to drive towards the edge of the box, like a husky pulling a sled and then flung himself headlong into the box. Ref fell for it.
Second penalty, nailed on. Fucking stupid challenge from Norwood and he knows it.

Our handball penalty appeal was a blatant handball. They get missed though. All the time. Especially when you want to get on Disney Plus.
The ref was trying to justify that one by showing that it hit the Wrexham player on the arm. Handball then!

It was quite a sight on a few occasions with Ndiaye. It was an absolute classic case of not even being able to kick him, not to any effect anyway. He was simply too good, too strong and too fast and would ride the challenges fouls every time. That's all he could do because the ref wasn't about to help him, at all

Hecky was right in his interview that if you try and stay on your feet you get punished. Throw yourself to the floor (like Wrexham) and you get free kicks.

Death's too good for him.
Quite right. He should be made to go live in Wrexham.

It reminded me of old clips of George Best riding challenges from Chopper Harris.

Aside from the blatant errors in both games, the failure to book their players for repeated fouls or Mullin for his blatant dive was ridiculous. If you ignore all the Hollywood nonsense and the typical plucky non league narrative, Wrexham are a typical shithousing Big Sam style team. Given that and their league 1 style budget, it's no wonder they are unpopular in non league circles.

Some saying the first pen was right?

I'd take a look again, the contact started clearly outside the box on replays. Even seen a still image.

Not seen a ref THAT blatantly biased in a long time. Bring back Graham Poll ffs 🤣
It wasn't clearly outside the box, it was right on the edge, and carried on into the box. The ref didn't have the benefit of VAR, but I've watched it back several times and can see why he gave it. Anel got the wrong side of him (he did that a few times) and grabbed him round the waist. Definitely a foul, arguable whether on the 18 yard line or inside, but no VAR so down to the ref.

This is Norwood the substitute all over though. he isn`t in the flow of the game and makes poor decisions as a result.

If he isn`t starting I'm not sure why, other than injury cover, you'd have him on the bench - one to bring on to change the game he is not - and if you are looking to hold a lead he often looks a shadow of himself when brought on.

The first pen at no point was there contact in the box. Initial contact was yards out side and if you slow down a freeze frame then Anels fingers might be on the line when still touching him, but that's only because Mullin flung himself forward like a fucking long jumper going head first. Even at that point Anel is stood way outside the box, there is no way the ref can look at that and think oooo that must have been in the box, it's a free kick outside all day long.

As for the handball, it was about as blatent a penalty as you can get, going to block a shot with you arm out that the ball hits, it was an absolute teavesty that it wasn't given.

But it's not just those decisions. Thier defender kicked out at Ndaiye the same as Jebbo last week but nothing was given. After the penalty miss we broke and Ndiaye was dragged down when through, not even a free kick. Sharp had his shirt pulled as he went to ground in the box and nothing was given. Mullin did an absolutely pathetic dive when he tried to pull JLT's arm towards him to make contact, no booking. Yet we got players book for pretty much nothing (Egan, Berge). It was an absolutely shocking refereeing performance.

From Law 12:

"If a defender starts holding an attacker outside the penalty area and continues holding inside the penalty area, the referee must award a penalty kick."

So this is evidence of fuck all - apart from not knowing the Laws of the Game :)
What does it say about jumping into the area from outside to try and gain a penalty? ;)

Having seen the refs performance tonight the old adage " there's none so blind as them who wont see" springs to mind.

The more you watch it, the more you see Mullins chuck himself across the line.

Blatant dive, he even does the diving manoeuvre with his arms.

And as much as you can tell from blurry screenshots Anel's still got something on him on the edge of the box so the ref can give a penalty if he wants, and he wanted to.

Ref gave us fuck all, and Iliman was lucky to get out of the match alive, but this was poor positioning and fucking stupid from Anel.

You can't go around blaming everyone else for your fuck ups. Take responsibilty.

I work with a Grimsby fan who fucking hates them and read plenty about them getting favourable treatment from officials.

Just absolutely blatant.
I did learn through watching the Wrexham Disney series that Grimsby finished 7th in the National League, beat Wrexham who finished 2nd in the National League at Wembley in the play-off final 1:0
I never usually look at the National League, so most of that stuff passes me by.
It does seem they have now gained a celebrity status.
Come on Notts County!

Is it ok if you don't get out much, have the biggest game you've had in years, get all giddy and fidgety after having a skin full and doing a few lines to throw all manner of shit on to the playing area in front of you (more than likely aiming for the opposition keeper) because you've escaped your shit hole town for a few hours...is that ok if you are making Lineker, Shearer et als ball swell up and a bit of a story for few weeks due to two (likable guys) putting some money into your club.
I didn't think it was ok, in fact it proper "rattled" me as they say. Cant believe not much has been said about it....oh wait yes I can as it doesn't fit into the shitty fairy tale narrative.

The most bizarre decision, that I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere, was when the referee stopped play to allow a Wrexham substitution.

Their keeper was in possession of the ball, it wasn't a dead ball at all, but the ref stopped him... subs happened then the ref had to give a drop ball for play to restart.

What the fuck happened there?

So who played the through ball for Billy to score (yes defender should have done better but didn’t) and who won the outstanding tackle on the edge of the area for sander to score
Just asking like

Yep, Egan booked for dissent I suppose when talking to the ref at their free kick. After that, I saw multiple cases where Wrexham players were literally screaming at the ref and he just politely smiled at them 🤷‍♂️ not even a warning. But for Egan he whipped the yellow straight out.

I didn't see it, but I think the keeper complained to the ref about something being chucked at him from the Kop. Then he allowed the subs and restarted with a drop ball.

The first penalty. Mullin was doing as much pulling as Anel outside the box. then the cheating Cunt does a swan dive when he noticed in the penalty area.
No way that was a pen. the second one can't argue against that, bad attempt at a tackle by Norwood.the handball in the wrexham penalty area.a blatant handball.
The lousy referee gave nowt. he needs to go to Specsavers. one of the worst referees I have seen. thats saying summat we had some baduns.

Yeah, a bottle came on the pitch. I was annoyed at the time that whoever had thrown it didn't wait for the ref to come closer, he deserved a bottle of piss on the back of his forehead

Mullin did well last night, he skinned Anel a few times whilst reffing the game at the same time, good multi-tasking.
