Go.

He's tactically inept, blames everything on everyone else and has totally drained my love for United over the last year.

16-2 so far , they must be doing it on the team bus ,and Ellis must be sat with him.

I'm not a regular supporter and apart from Televised games I have not been to more than a handful of game over the past few seasons.
Having stated my position as an irregular supporter at the Lane I'd just like to give my opinion which is based on seeing the games I have seen, talking to friends who do go to all the games, reading comments from the Forum, listening to commentaries and listening to the Phone-ins.
I was glad to see Blackwell appointed when he was brought in to replace Robson and the way he turned things round and almost made the play-offs was to be commended.
I remembered seeing Luton beat Liverpool in a cup-tie when he was in charge and his team played some excellent football and I hoped that that would be replicated for us.
I was also under the impression that in his partnership with Warnock his coaching was behind all the innovation and imagination in our play , perhaps I was wrong.
When he was first appointed his interviews were enthusiastic and articulate but this season he has been an embarrassment to the club and the supporters.
In his first full season we reached the play-offs but apart from the Preston games the quality of the football was very unexiting and one-dimensional although we had a exceptional run of results away from home.
When he signed Cotterill. Little and Kyle Reid for this season it appeared as if he had reacted to what the supporters had been saying that we needed pace on the wings but the departure of two of these players and the non-appearance of the other has negated that although in our better performances recently he has played with men wide.
The deciding factor for me this season has been the way he has refused to accept any responsibility for the overall poor performances that have been produced and makes excuses about injuries and today criticises his players for lack of bottle when he should be apologising for sending out a team who had not been fully motivated or well coached.
I am beginning to lean toward the "Blackwell out" camp.

To be fair to him he did a great job when he arrived and last season. This year he has had injuries BUT he has been far to negative, played boring hoofball, sold flair players, played his favourites even when they were playing badly.

I would rather have a manager who plays football and gives entertainment - SOD would be my choice. We should get him in as soon as we are safe and give him a head start for next season.

The 20th will be interesting.

He should go on the basis of that interview alone. Shocking.

If ever you have difficulty explaining the word 'mardy' to anyone, just play them that. Could have been recorded in a school playground.

Does he really think he can motivate players by telling them that the only reason they are at the club is because they were 'all that was available'? Jesus H.

Two hat indeed.

Completely agree. Up till today I was all for leaving it till the summer. We may as well write the season off, and get someone in now that can then make an assessment of what we have and what's needed. We have several out of contract - I don't particularly want a situation where we keep/release players that we shouldn't (as happened in the cases of Kozzie and Gillespie)

Yes, both should have been released long before they were. Let's learn that lesson and bin the talentless twosome forthwith.

Crikey, didn't think it'd be up at 90% (though I expect it to drop once people have had the weekend to mull over) from what I would class as a group of relatively open minded individuals (a few exceptions granted).

I voted OUT, better to get a new man in now IMO. Give the fans something to look forward to next season? An incentive to renew? What's the worse that could happen, we've (read Kevin Blackwell) have pretty much written the PO's off for this year.

Play-offs should have been minimal expectations this year. So for me, if he's written them off, he's failed. Plain and simple.

I think he re introduction of Quinn (or just messing about with the promising attacking line up of the last 2 home matches) is what's done it for many. He does himself no favours at all.

I agree, and was saying this a while ago. I think it would be a disaster if we sneaked up through the Play Offs anyway.I'd start planning for the future now, and start using a few Academy kids. I voted OUT, tonight's interview was terrible, and come to think about it, he didn't exactly enthuse in his interviews about the wins over Bristol & Plymouth. He looks & sounds a bit beaten, to me.

Just as a matter of interest JD, how bad would it have to get?

I didn't go today, but I don't doubt it was rubbish. The interview wasn't clever either, but I appreciate honesty even if it should be tempered with diplomacy.

If we're in relegation trouble (we're not) and we see the players not trying (they are) then I expect the manager to be sacked.

Blackwell's teams often play grim football, but he's working in a turbulent era for the club and generally his results remain good.

If we finish the season showing no promise for future improvement, and Blackwell gets replaced, then fair enough. But we shouldn't be in the business of rotating managers mid-season - that's a last resort.

My worry is that he, or more his tactics, are in place at the time of the season ticket deadline. I'm all for a change at the end of the season, but the trouble there is that the deadline will pass with the promise of Blackwell in charge. That will be a big problem for us.

The exact problem McCabe has to deal with... Balance that consideration against the precedence the sacking would set.

There are always, and I mean al-flippin-ways, a group of fans who think they know better than the management. They won't go away even when we have a new manager. In fact, we could start the next campaign for a sacking right now...

I must admit that i'm swaying. I think that he has done wonders with all the restructuring going on around him. But to revert back to Quinn and only get one shot on target (bbc figure) all match against a rudderless team is disgraceful.
I'm refraining from voting at the minuite and sitting on the fence. However a negative team (not result) in midweek will give me a shove.

For me it's not a case of thinking you know better than the management, it's a case of thinking you've got nothing to lose. I want entertainment and he shows no sign of it being a priority of his.

I don't think we need to worry about precedence. Managers, like players, come for the money. In any case, with 3 managers in the last 10 years we've hardly got previous.

You probably summed it up for most of us that are reluctant to have a go and that heve been prepared to give him a good run at it.

Today's team line up just about did it for me

Sad...

Blackwell is a arrogant bully who hates anyone who questions his decisions you only have to look at the players he’s let go or badgered out, most of them play passing football on the deck ,
i can imagine the training sessions now

KB" kick it in the fu**ing air NOW!

cotts" but Billy’s begging for a threaded through ball

KB" shut up shut up I’m the boss monkey socks
I was a goalkeeper you know I know everything about passing kick it as high and far as you can

KB" sharp your useless why didn’t you win that header you pineapple trees

bs" but kev I’m not 6'2"

kB" IM THE BOSS IM THE BOSS DO WHAT I SAY!!!

KB" read what the saxophone you are doing running with that ball kick it in the bloody air

but 90%? - I'll accept the timing of the votes may affect this but 90%?

I only hope that Saturday's interview alone has taken him closer to the parting of ways than the last 24 months of pretty much constant shite football. The interview makes me wonder whether he wants away but would rather be paid off on his way out. I also find it interesting that he is questioning the players bottle now 9 months after saying he didn't have what it takes and that he could take the club any further. this kettle is definitely black.

160 votes and 90% want Blackwell out.

says it all really..........

Unfortunately he may aswell stay until May. I think he will resign if we don't make the play offs anyway.

He may aswell see it to the end of the season, but we need to replace in time for the summer and get scouts at the world cup.
