Watching Sunderland v Derby and am shitting myself due to the massive gulf in class that we've been constantly told about from the muppets at the sty ! How will we cope ?!?!?!?? On a side issue we certainly dodged a bullet with that hideous Sunderland shirt !!!
Can't wait for tomorrow we have fuck all to fear , we are more than capable of holding our own in this division ! Come on you red and white wizaaaaaaaaards !!!!
As ever UTB !!

Get what you're saying and love your optimism but steady on, if either of these were playing a team who had been in league one last season they may look better. Let's kick a ball before we start shooting our mouths off, don't wanna end up with egg on our faces.

Yep, very average fare on show tonight. The Blades have absolutely nothing to fear this new season, and Wilder knows it too.

I reckon we'll be right up there.

I haven't predicted anything to end up with egg on my face just stating that it's not exactly a massive gulf like we have been led to believe . Also the solid red back is part of the problem , I too had that home shirt from 88/89 and so did Mr Wilder ! I am commenting on the shirt as a whole !! Ours is much better imo !
As ever UTB!!

I think quite a few of our fans would be well served by waiting until seeing how we actually perform in the Championship before dismissing the standard of the division and the challenge ahead of us.

I think "what Wednesday fans say" has driven a lot to insist that it is in fact a shit league and we'll be fine.

I think we'll stay up fairly comfortably but we'll have far more difficulty scoring goals and can't afford to be as sloppy at the back.

We could easily be playing a team tomorrow that ends up on the edge of the play offs due to the quality they have bought, treat it like that but go for it with no fear and decent crowd support and see what happens.

Not the best game in football. But then again nobody wants to start badly.

I'll see how i feel about this league in 10 games time.

Anyone else feeling giddy as fuck abart tomorrow????

Using a Cricket analogy, don't knock the first innings score until both teams have batted on the wicket !

That's a good analogy.

Both sides do look poor skill and ability wise
But both teams look athletic and more physical than us
Also it's the first game so both teams may be happy not to lose.
Actually both teams remind me of a slightly better version of Bolton

Lot of empty seats, the locals are obviously not happy

Our players look good and we have talent but we've only watched them against League one opposition, lets wait and see what there like against championship opposition

There's a recurring consensus when watching Championship games - "scrappy boring game, low on quality"

What seems to be ignored is how much harder it is to score goals.

Looked only a third full, meaning the crowd should be 15 to 20,000.

However amazingly the official attendance is given as 29,578.
Must be 1000's of season ticket holders on holiday or choosing to watch it in the pub.

Dont get the impression anybody is shooting their mouth off, just watching the game and thinking not overly that good, remember Sunderland were in the premier last season, we are going to watch these games now and think about how we will fare

Unpopular opinion - I really like the Sunderland shirt.

I think the Sunderland shirt would be ok if it didn't have the solid red backs so it would be more like our shirt modelled by Dave Barnes! As for Sunderland, under Grayson they'll certainly be hard to beat and will probably be mid table.

First game of the season. Always shoddy. Impressed Grayson has managed to turn them round to get a draw. Derby have a wealth of talent but seemingly always flatter to deceive. Was very scrappy and some dubious fitness levels out there. If we can hit the ground running, we can catch a few teams napping in the first few games.

we are by default, a reet bunch of pessimistic fuckers - So hate to shoot down a dollop of optimism.. But.
last season after 4 games div1 teams all around the land were saying "we've nothing to fear off them blades".....
let's get a few games under our belts, couple of clean sheets and our forwards scoring, then give it large!!
and who gives a fuck what them mongs from porksville say, if they had more than 2 brain cells rattling about in their neanderthal skulls, they wouldn't follow that shower of shite.

We all know Millwall are really poor when they played us at the Lane.

But they had 21 shots away at Forest tonight.
Millwall lost 0-1 but deserved at least a draw. I've been told several times that there's a massive difference in standard between league 1 and the cc. Suppose we'll have a better idea tomorrow.

Hope you're right. Looking at the space in midfield tonight I think we could boss games and teams may take us for granted. Still cautiously optimistic though rather than over confident until I've seen us against the likes of derby, boro, Sunderland in the first few weeks

May have over exaggerated with the shooting mouth off comment. Just been watching the blades too long to be complacent! Just trying to make the point that these could be two sides up there cancelling each other out with early season rustiness. The fact we have momentum from last season hopefully plays in our favour whereas teams like Sunderland will take time to gel.
