A relegation 6 pointer even at this stage of the season. Coventry are a poor side and without looking nervously at the teams below and around them, we should be beating teams like Coventry at home. Speed has the perfect opportunity to slicence the critics if United bounce back and you could ask for a much easier home game. That said' the Sky Blues arrive on the back of a decent win against Barnsley were as the Blades are likely to be deflated after their worst performance of the season.
Well, what a dire prospect this promises to be. Two sides lacking in confidence and completely devoid of any quality. I'm glad that our lass has got me out building the she rather than the prospect of a dull game against Coventry.
My prediction is 1-1.
The team I would go with is:
--------- SS
De Laet Morgs Bartely Jordan
-------- Britton
Lowton ----- ? ------ Yeates
----- Boggy Ward
The ? would probably have to be filled with Ertl, Quinn or Monty, but I would only put them in the side begrudgingly. The 3 of them have proved time and time again that they are not fit to wear at United shirt. Is there anyone from the youth team that we can utilise?
Speed, I'm sure will play 4-5-1 (despite our failings) and I expect he'll go with:
--------- SS
Calve Bartley Morgs De Laet
------ Britton Monty
---------- Quinn
Ward -------------- Yeates
-------- Cresswell
I wouldn't grumble too much at this formation (both teams above look poor) providing that we try to win. I expect nothing other than attacking football from the 1st minute. I don't mind if we lose (though I'll still moan about it) as long as we do trying. The thing that killed me under Blackwell was playing negatve and not trying to win games. Coventry are not very good, we are at home and hence we should go for it. Yes, we should stay solid but we should get players forward, show some grit and attack, attack, attack!
Can see the attendence being around 18k for this game and hopefully Mr Birch and Mr McCabe will be taking notes. I assume they watched the debacle last week (or at least were briefed about it) and they must realise we are dicing with danger (or relegation of we stay on this path).
