I'm still completely baffled as to what Hecky was hoping to gain by bringing on Basham. Giving minutes to literally any other outfielder on the bench would have been more beneficial

Outplayed in every department, worst I've seen in all the year from Currie onwards, players should give their match fee towards a statue in Maddy Cusack's honour
Defensive coach needs sacking and I wouldn't be surprised if Warnock came in short term to steady the ship, Hecky doesn't, like Wilder have a plan b when anything goes wrong imo
He did have a plan B and used it second half

Difference between the near victory st Spurs last week and the Newcastle defeat this week ........ McBurnie was playing last week, Egan not playing. McBurnie would definitely not have given up, in either attack or defence.

But might have become frustrated to the point of getting himself a couple of yellows because he’s clearly not the sharpest tool in the box & seems incapable of learning.

Tbf to him, the decision to send him off the week earlier was ridiculous

He should have brought Basham on at half time and sacrificed a luxury player like Hamer or Macatee. This might have closed the back door that was about a mile wide open

Improved as a player for sure.

Still got the brains of a rocking horse….

I agree on that one. But if he was giving verbals to the ref (and it was a shit decision so I kinda understand) then it was a gilt edged invitation to card him

A poster gives some positivity, which you are advocating. Then when he does you criticise his positivity.

🤔

I haven’t criticised his positivity. I agree with him. A McB who keeps his head is a major asset. But I could imagine him quite easily getting 2 yellows yesterday. Can’t you?

Why wasn't Trippier carded?
Or was he chatting with ref about where to go on holiday?

Defending a three goal deficit? Really?

Very politely put 😉
Haha thank you. I’m involved in a bit of goalie coaching on a Sunday now and biting one’s tongue has become a pre requisite. Not anything i said, but we got the Scarborough warning from the ref on Sunday because of something one of the lads on the touch line said. The ref was going to report the club to the league and under the new directive we would have faced sanctions.

Just listening to Rest is Football and the irony of Shearer moaning about how the barcodes weren't allowed to touch the Man City players… Perhaps Alan should speak to Jack Robinson

Is there something these north east teams have over Sheffield teams this week?

I can't believe I actually thought we might get a point from this game 😂

I somehow underestimated exactly how bad this club is (not team, club! They are all as bad as each other)
