Surprisingly easy win. We pressed well from the off and Boro looked like a pub team at time. Slow and clumsy. passing back and to the sides (I can see why he wants to sign Lundstram). Tappy tappy. Got lucky with the first two but took them well. very solid back 3 against not a lot but didn't give them a sniff for most of the game. MGW was unplayable and Sharp made them look slow. Constantly finding room down the channels. Not sure why he's dressed their staff up as firemen. Must be a North-Eastern thing.

Foderingham - 6 - Terrible falling flat on his face which made me laugh. Wouldn't have been if we weren't 3-0 up. Otherwise, safe hands with the few balls coming in.
RND - 5.5 - Someone needs to give him a stern talking to. Lucky not to concede a penalty with another clumsy challenge early on and got caught a few times well out of position. Again gave away a silly free kick later on. He did some good work otherwise but this stupidity seems to be happening every game now.
Robinson - 8 - Solid as a rock again and a right-footed goal. He's become Mr solid and put himself about.
Egan - 8.5 - I would get my neighbour's donkey that he absolutely hates Connolly. Took great delight in flattening him every 5 minutes. Best game for us for a while.
Davies - 8 - Impressed with him out of position. Looked a bit awkward early on but soon got into the swing of it.
Osborn - 7 - Looked awkward at times on his wrong foot but settled. Put a couple of really good crosses in with his right foot, including the goal
Fleck - 6 - We looked decent in midfield tonight. Lots of pressing and harrying. Hope it's not too serious
Norwood - 6 - I thought his set pieces and attacking play was fairly woeful but he had a much better game defensively. Got stuck in and found a smaller midfielder to give a bit of aggro to!
Berge - 7 - Looked great going forward but there was also some very poor final balls. Looked a bit more energetic and on it but still lacking on the defensive side.
MGW - 9.5 - Performance of the season. Everything worked for him tonight and he kept going and going. Loses half a point for a couple of bad choices but he was unplayable.
Sharp - 8 - Ran the line brilliantly and looked so much.....sharper than their defence. Linked up with MGW really well. Just need to keep him fit.

Subs

Hourihane - 7 - Our set pieces were so much better when he came on. Solid more than anything ese in outfield play
Little Socks - 1 - OMFG. The moment when he took out MGW is up there with the most incompetent moments of any Blade player. Looked terrible for the short time he was on. Everything wrong
Gordon - Didn't actually notice him which isn't the worst thing when we're defending

Hecky - 8 - He had Wilder's number and pressed them from the off. Got a bit of luck but we were the better team throughout

Boro - Shocked how bad they were. Clearly got players with skills and a few flashes from them but little more. Their defence was terrible and their general slowness to do anything a bit bonkers. I suspect there may be trouble ahead.

Slightly concerned that ndiaye isn’t getting much chance off the bench atm - would love to see him more often
He struggled that last match he played and maybe a rest and recharge is what he needs. Easy to forget after he broke through playing wonderfully well earlier in the season he dipped and was dropped back down to the 23’s to find his feet again and came storming back.

Still his first season in senior football at this level it’ll be a steep learning curve for him not only playing against good quality players but also learning how to maintain his levels and find consistency.

Nice birthday present for me and it feels good to get one over the Incredible Sulk.

What was lucky about the 2nd goal ? Good tackle by Norwood, strong run by MGW and a nice pass to Billy

Boro have been laughably shit tonight. Bet Hecky's going to love his post match pint with Wilder.

Thinking about it tonight, I get the feeling that looking at Boro’s players CW, just like you could argue he did with us when he first arrived, may be just over achieving? I don’t rate half their team. I suppose seeing them only twice this season, I may be miles out, but they just don’t impress me

Perhaps things are catching up with him sooner than he’d like?

Convincing win against promotion rivals even after gifting them a goal. Played like we had a point to prove and there were some great individual performances.

Chris who?

My nervousness went after 5 minutes tonight when I saw how crap they were and how well we pressed them.

Great display from the Blades, some real standout performances.

MGW was superb, Sharp was awesome, JLT was inspired, Norwood was incredible, Davies was excellent. RND was great, Osborne was fantastic, Berge was brilliant, Egan was good, Fleck/Hourihane were sexual, Wes was too notch (slip aside).

McBurnie managed to stop MGW in his tracks, more than their defence managed all night. Well done Oli 😂

None of the starting lineup gets less than a seven after that performance.
RND best he's played in a while against a very tricky opponent, Fleck also very good until he came off and Norwood also excellent tonight

We were terrific. So much better than Friday night.

No two games are the same
Forest fans were full of shit on Friday night
But they'll also drop points and not play well against someone they would expect to beat

And Middlesboro will win unexpectedly against somebody they'd expect a tough game from.

Can we also appreciate that MGW always wants to chin someone after a bad tackle? Was straight over to back up sharpe!|*

*The extra e is to piss off the arsehurt

Good summary. I would though give Norwood 7.
And the worst bit about the little socks incident when he bowled over MGW was that he started complaining to MGW when he was at fault. The guy is clueless and classless.
MGW just amazes me with how much effort he puts in. He has great skill but for a guy who is here on loan he is totally emotionally committed to the club. He was outstanding.
Terrific atmosphere tonight and a great win.

Fantastic night, great performance!
Every member of the squad is stepping up when called upon.
Just need Berge to realise he’s not 2 inches taller so he can get a contact on some of those headers

just when you think you can love Chris wilder any more. he gives us 3 points, although penny for Wilder's thoughts. as this has got to be a weird night for many reasons, as you cant stop supporting sheff utd after everything he's been through. so to be battered by you boyhood team at home stadium. has got to odd

i love to know what the Middlesbrough fans who didnt know where they were going, giving it the big un to the chip shop queue about 6.45pm are Feeling now 🤣

but on the game, it was an outstanding performance this. performance of the season, i didnt think that swansea could be topped but this has surpassed it. to produce that under all the expectation & pressure, as i thinking in hindsight that was as close to a sheffield derby as we get outside of wednesday. it was very impressive & very united like. normally we crumble under that kind of pressure. so many players we could pick out as so many great performances, Berge has been outstanding, Robinson making me eat alot of Humble pie. & what a partnership Sharp & Gibbs White have become

Harsh on the midfielders, thought Norwood had a superb game and Fleck was flying until he got injured. Berge used the ball really well, pressed and even won a header!

Berge knocked one in from two yards which got us off to a great start,

As much as I love McGoldrick, the way things were going for him he'd have somehow conspired to hit the cross bar and both posts and it would have bounced clear.

Can 't get over how frail they looked at the back - they folded like a pack of cards each time we pressed them.

Think there were a few Wilder mind games too, us attacking the Kop first half and their players trying to provoke a response every time they could.
