The good points.
He seems to be making an effort.
He is giving us an aerial threat in the box.
And he heads well defensively.
He is giving away less free kicks.

The not so good points.
Poor first touch.
While he gets his head on the ball his heading ability is not good.
His ability in shooting is poor.

So while he can contribute to the team for the rest of the season. He is not quality or clinical.
He did well at Swansea but that is well in the past. Even if he does start performing well he will not score consistently.

Sheffield United missed a host of chances as they were held to a second goalless draw in four days, by a resolute Hull City. Bottled it.

Made it over to the UK for the game, delighted to be back at BDTBL! I can’t say that we were royally entertained but, on the bright side at least we don’t support Hull. I’m amazed at the pelters McB gets on here; he worked his bollox off and was our only goal threat. There are plenty of players that were worse than him tonight. Berger did well when he came on but RND should have done better on the other wing. Onwards & upwards…

Hull came with a clear game plan to disturb our rhythm, practice their dark art of shithousing and nick a goal if they could. Lewis-Potter almost pulled this off and ran us ragged particularly in the first half, just glad he doesn't seem to have an end product.

Thought the ref fell for every trick in the book and lost control of the game.

Having said that, we have to win games like this and we had many chances to do so.

When you know there's 3 home games in a row coming up,you know for a fact we are not going to get maximum points, because we never do,so there you go,it's over in the first of them.

A dogged performance by a well- drilled team got Dull a point they deserved.

McB’s only real chance, he controlled and hit well and the keeper was lucky - but in the right place.

MGW - hit his chance well and the block was lucky and deflected over.

Ndiaye 1-on-1 a bit of a rabbit in headlights, but keeper did well again.

Our best chance of the game was Robbo - free header and missed an undefended net.

They were vulnerable wide and our wing backs weren’t getting round the back at all. RND and George were both very poor going forwards.

But QPR and Coventry lost, so we move up to 8th - our highest place yet - and move on.

When I do my graphs later we’re still on schedule for Top 6, just a little less probable.

Magic is never easy.

Poor really. Scrappy game against an opposition intent on breaking the game up. We just didn't create enough clear-cut chances although we largely dominated.. It was more hopeful than anything else. We need to shoot first time. There's an extra touch all the time which gives their defenders a chance to get back. Lack of intent going forward and sloppy with the ball. I'd like to see more players having a go.

Foderingham - 6 - Had nothing to do really. Got beaten to the ball late on which really shouldn't have been happening in that position
RND - 6 - Poor generally going forward but a bit more resolute at the back. Kept going though to the very end
Robinson - 6 - Should have done better with a header but strong again at the back. Supported well first half.
Egan - 6 - Did well against Forss. Less so against Eaves. Pretty solid.
Basham - 5.5 - Got skinned again really badly and both he and Baldock struggled with Lewis-Potter first half. Better in the second.
Baldock - 5.5 - As above. There attacks kept coming down that side though.
Hourihane - 6 - Put some very good balls in and passes first half but faded. Gave the ball away really badly and was fairly anonymous before coming off.
Norwood - 5 - When he's on the ball going forward we look so much more dangerous but kept giving the ball away second half and lucky to stay on.
MGW - 6 - Poor first half and nothing really stuck. Was a peripheral figure. Much better second half and was at the heart of most of our best stuff.
Ndiaye 4.5 - I thought he was poor again. Similar to MGW first half but didn't really improve. Had a chance he should have taken first time. Doesn't protect the ball and seems to be getting pushed around way too easily. Maybe extra weights?
McBurnie - 6 - He still looks way off full fitness and lacking strength. Should have done better with a couple of chances and seems to struggle to strike a ball cleanly. Dangerous in the air and was a threat throughout. Linked up the attacks well. Needs to stop being a dickhead off the ball though. All the afters will get him in trouble one day.

Subs

Sharp - 5 - I thought he had hardly any impact. The one shot that was blocked but he never really got up to speed
Berge - 6 - When he chose to take on a man he was good. Difficult to stop. Needs to do more of that.

Hecky - 5 - I can understand why he made the changes and a little surprised he didn't make more given this looked on paper the easiest game this month. It didn't really work but he's clearly working with limited options. Players are looking tired second halves and he'll need to keep rotating and hope for the best. We really need a goal outlet that isn't Sharp though.

Hull - Horrible team to watch but you have to credit their defence for putting their bodies on the line. Lew-Potter looks a talented player but maybe not big on teamwork!
We really missed Bogle tonight

This is not over reaction "Running Out of Games in hand real quick - taken 2 points out of 6 - 0 goals in 2 games, only one striker that can score goals - Where is that fearsome strike force we had when we were relegated ? Never was one, lucky to finish in the top six !!!!

Waited til the full time whistle to try and add some weight to it??

Slating a player before a ball is ever kicked... to be fair, McBurnie probably edged golden boy Gibbs-White..... should we send him back???

Too many fans with heads up arses at the minute.... forgetting who and where we are.

When Jebbison is ready, no doubt he will be thrown in. But you know naff all about what happens invetween games..... who looks sharpest and who is working hard....who is fittest.

Your opinion is based on a young lad getting some goals in league one. He's been out of the loop for months!

When he's ready, works hard and hungry enough.....then he will get his nod won't he.

As for your little dick man angry capitals.... we have one, he's called Billy Sharp.... but unfortunately we need to look after him and keep him prime.

Thank fuck is don't sit next to you at the lane..... fucking jobsworth.
Ok but don’t get the jobsworth bit,the attack on my penis and the hatred just cause I think Jebbison should be given a go over McBurnie

Frustrating game but on the plus side, we’d have lost 1 nil under Slav with a big kick from the chubby donkey in goal to the chubby donkey with the ponytail and then that little fast child who took the piss out of Baldock and Basham all night running onto it and scoring.

They played us well, let us play 70 yard passes to the wing backs then closed us down from there. We then tried risky passes through the middle and they broke and we tried again. That was literally it all night.

Berge came on and made another chubby donkey of a sub of theirs look like a chubby donkey a few times, but the corners straight down the throat of their chubby donkeys didn’t work.

The ref was absolutely awful and they took full advantage.

Our team were pretty average, MoM was probably Berge for actually trying to run forward towards the end where their goal was with the ball at his feet.

Fodders - Clean sheet, nowt to do - 6/10

Baldock - Had a bit of a shocker in both directions - 4/10

RND - Slightly better than Baldock but not very good - 5/10

JLT - Ok I suppose, they didn’t even try to attack, did well to get back and dispossess the chubby donkey near the end - 5.5/10

Bash - Not that good tonight, Harry Potter did him a couple of times and ineffective going forwards - 5/10

Egan - Nothing to do, passed it to Norwood a lot - 5.5/10

Norwood - Lots of Hollywood balls that got us absolutely nowhere. I thought he was trolling our fans at one point by keep passing Hull the ball - 5/10

Hourihane - gave the ball away once but the better of the 2 in midfield - 6/10

MGW - Just didn’t happen for him tonight again but does try, lucky not to get booked when getting wound up by their idiotic players and the tosser of a ref - 5/10

Ndiaye - Missed a 1v1 poorly, didn’t really do anything apart from that - 4.5/10

McBurnie - Just not very good at football, my mum would have saved that shot on target he had, not the worst of the forwards though - 5.5/10

Subs:

Billy - At least he tried to run off the shoulder of their defenders, but didn’t influence the game really - 5/10

Sander - Did we’ll driving down the right a few times, looked much better than the other players - 7/10

From looking at stats 7 out of 22 shots were from McBurnie and he did have a couple blocked/saved although for me he should be tucking one of those away although Robinson had 3 chances too!

And yet Robinson and Ndiaye had the two worse misses of the game.....but let's blame McBurnie
He's a centre forward. Paid to lead the line and score goals. He doesn't seem capable.
Robinson is paid to defend, goals are a bonus.

You would still expect a defender to get a free header on target from about 6 yards out with most of the goal to aim at

0-0 but still heading in the right direction. Another small portion of Humble Pie added to my plate.

The Boro game's building towards a Sorcerer's Apprentice encounter!
