hmm .. Mike Dean.. he likes being a contrary bastard doesn't he? :D

I got to say I do fear Arsenal as much if not more than Liverpool. We all knew what to expect from the European champions and we raised our game accordingly. But there is a strange misconception with Arsenal, that they have a soft underbelly and might not fancy a Monday night trip to Bramall Lane. Well if we don’t afford them the same sort of respect we did Liverpool, I think they are equally capable of ripping us a new arsehole.
strange misconception?? their defence are gash. especially against the big lads. Granite (oh the irony of that name) Xhaka (or whatever it is) is the worst top level footballer i've ever seen. bound to get sent off.

So at last back in action tonight, with the visit of Arsenal to BDBL. Really looking forward to this one, and I'm sure Wilder will have the lads fired up and ready to go. However despite a somewhat under the radar start to the season, Arsenal are clearly a class side, with a particular dangerous forward line.

Anyway...

Any team news? :)

Seems a few out with McGoldrick definitely absent?

Fleck also a doubt?

McBurnie probably missing, injured or not?

I always felt this was a game which would suit the trickery and pace of Mousset, so the McBurnie incident might not be a biggy. Though it does reduce the options available to change things if necessary. Clearly a very difficult game, but I think we will score, and I'm fairly confident of a positive result. 1-1 or 2-1 to us. I'll go for the latter....

Is there going to be a light show tonight? :)

I think it’s rather sweet that people are still engaging in trying to guess the team line up like in the old days despite it being leaked two days before as it has been all season.

It can't be that many, surely?

Must just mean on a Monday.

It's wrong, whatever it is. Games played on a Monday since 2009/10:

2/11/09 United 0-1 Newcastle (7.45pm)
9/11/09 Barnsley 2-2 United (7.45pm)
28/12/09 United 1-0 Preston (3pm)
5/4/10 Newcastle 2-1 United (7.45pm)
3/1/11 United 2-2 Doncaster (3pm)
4/4/11 QPR 3-0 United (7.45pm)
25/4/11 Reading 2-3 United (3pm)
2/1/12 Carlisle 3-2 United (3pm)
14/5/12 United 1-0 Stevenage (7.45pm, play off game)
29/10/12 United 1-0 Portsmouth (7.45pm)
1/4/13 United 0-0 Carlisle (3pm?)
6/5/13 Yeovil 2-0 United (3pm?, play off game)
17/3/14 Preston 0-0 United (7.45pm)
11/5/15 Swindon 5-5 United (7.45pm, play off game)
28/12/15 United 3-1 Bradford (3pm)
26/12/16 United 2-0 Oldham (12.30pm)
2/1/17 Bury 1-3 United (12.30pm)
17/4/17 United 3-0 Bradford (12.30pm)
1/1/18 Derby 1-1 United (12.30pm)
2/4/18 United 1-1 Cardiff (7.45pm)
4/3/19 Them 0-0 United (7.45pm)
22/4/19 Hull 0-3 United (12.30pm)

4 games since last defeat in a 7.45pm game on a Monday: QPR 3-0 United, 4/4/11
12 games since last league defeat on a Monday: Carlisle 3-2 United, 2/1/12
10 games since last defeat on a Monday (all games): Yeovil 2-0 United, 6/5/13

All of which is immaterial anyway.

I shall never forget his smug expression looking towards our end, pre match warm up at Wembley against Burnley. Blackwell's dozy comments didn't endear us to the attention seeking muppet. Didn't give us a stonewall pen either. Coincidence??? hmmmm.

Really could do with a win tonight! Keep us out of the mix so to speak! Also a bit annoying, no interview with wilder on radio Sheffield ? Come on radio sheff!

Well, I never thought I'd live to see the day where we saw on the bench an England International with 40 caps, this century's leading goalscorer across the leagues plus about £30m's worth of talent. Summat wrong there methinks.

Yeah but at least the Mousse is starting!

Like the look of that team. McBurnie and Robinson need the kick up the arse of being dropped, and I think McG and Moose have the attributes to trouble their defence.

COYRAWW

Good to see Didsy back, bring that link up play to the table.

Is it just me, or does it see to be very touristy at the game tonight?

Doing well, look fairly solid and not getting drawn out of position. Heart in mouth every time they attack as they've got some pace and trickery. A second would be nice!

Brilliant performance from everyone tonight.

Couldn't be happier and bonus being Wilder managed to try some different stuff formation and personnel wise and we came through against a dangerous attacking team.

MOTM take your pick, Fleck, Moose, Egan, JOC...

Yes fucking yes. Very deserved win. Awesome job Blades:)
