I for one will be doing this :) it goes on everything else I fill in :) especially the facebook page. im not sure but i think i put it down when i applied for my driving licence :p

I know a few people who put SUFC related things on the last one. SUFC/Blade/Sheffield United etc.

Is it one census per household or per adult? Could be a prob in this household - my housemate is from Cardiff and has a preference to Cardiff City!!

It's one census form per household, but I think you answer some questions per individual.

EDIT:

I've started a Facebook group if anyone's interested :)

Was at an overseas conference which amongst other things explored the "spirituality of wilderness" - I wasn't sure that Sheffield had too much to offer as a "spiritual experience" till an Aussie who was at the conference mentioned his time in London, and his visit to White Hart Lane. His view was that 20,000+ people all united in the same hopes, purpose and dreams - and all singing together and creating and sharing an intense experience is indeed a very spiritual experience.

Whereas taking urban kids out to the Outback, or to the mountains may be spiritual for them - bringing kids from the sticks to a match can literally be awe-inspiring.

Through my work I've brought kids from villages in Somerset and Worcestershire to the Lane for matches - and some of those kids have scarcely been able to believe what they're seeing. One lass stood outside McDs on the Moor and looked up at Debenhams(?) opposite and said "Cor - innit big!!" - If a 6 storey building blows your mind - what does a stadium of of over 22,000 people do. As one lad said - "People like me don't come to places like this" - Left me with a tear in my eye!!

Blades - perhaps not a religion - but at times certainly spiritual!!

The 1921 census is great as you had to state your occupation so you can put in footballer. The other point is it was taken outside the football seasons so the players had gone home or staying with friends. Seeing the season was over the players released by the teams had lost their jobs. These are all from Sheffield census returns but most of them are from Attercliffe and Darnall.
The spread of teams is amazing
Interestingly look as Ambrose Langley down as unemployed who played over 300 games for The Wednesday.

The last entry, as I have mentioned on here before, is to my late mother-in-law’s cousin, Charlie Wilson, still the youngest player to have played for WBA in a league game. To my horror, he signed for Wednesday in 1928, and enjoyed 4 years of success with them. He was brought up in Heeley, close to the Lane, but was turned down by United. I have never forgiven the Head of Recruitment🤣.
Anyone else got a link to these players? It suggests there was a production line locally.
