“ Wednesday’s administrators Begbies Traynor declined to respond.”

What? You can’t keep him out of the limelight normally!
Yeah…..unbelievable….. tells me that that Piggy guy Wiggy has been given a bollocking if he’s leaked this!! And told to keep stun for a while. This is exactly why the inclusion of a Wednesday fan as part of the Administration Team becomes a massive conflict of interest.

Its like a leaky sieve at SWFC at the moment. How they are going to deal with the EFL confidentiality requirements should they get to preferred bidder status and start the O and D process will be interesting. Thats not even accounting for clauses that will be built into an SPA.

This is what happens when you appoint a firm of administrators who specialise in public relations. We are not even at the NDA stage and due diligence and the media are having open season on telling the wider public what is taking place.

Mr Wigfield would be best heeding the following advice if he wants the smooth transition he currently implies will happen;

The EFL insists on strict confidentiality during a club's sale to prevent market manipulation, protect sensitive club information, ensure potential owners pass the Owners' and Directors' Test, and maintain a smooth transition without undue influence on staff, players, or fan sentiment. This secrecy helps prevent potential buyers from using the negotiation process to their advantage or causing instability before a sale is complete.

COH could buy The theatre of Rust. It’s owned separately from the club by a separate company which is owned by Chansiri as he bought the ground for £60 mill to get them out of FFP breaches. Knock it down and develop as a housing estate.

Fantastic post….. 100% they need putting back in their box and reminding of their role & the rules on this.

Tbf, from an emotionless, cynical, best for business point of view it would make sense to make Sheffield a one club city. Double the fanbase (in theory), more income, better chances at climbing to the top.

But football needs rivalries with a proper history.

Is this really being spoken about or just bull.

Owners of virtually every football isn’t a fan of that club….they are normally expert businessmen looking to make profit.

Any businessman with a brain….will have thought about the idea of creating a giant football club….as big as a Leeds United or Newcastle.
In the mid 90’s our owner Mike McDonald (not the singer) tested the waters suggesting the idea of merger to form a super club.
American owners tend to think along the franchise line…..they would be excited about creating a club capable of 60 to 80,000 gates.
On paper it’s not a crazy idea….regards what action they’ve taken regards approaching SW is just scaremongering….its confidential…so no one knows.

However English are traditionalist….we don’t support a team for success or even entertainment.
In England football is more of a religion and we prefer authenticity, history and tradition instead of being offered a man made super team.

However altho the idea of a Sheffield team would fail in the short term……in the long term with special marketing it could work. Football fans are notoriously fickle….if a new Sheffield team was playing top PL football and there was no Sheff Utd then of course I’d go to watch live top class football.

If there was no Sheff Utd or Sheff Wed….then I’d go to the odd game at Rotherham, almost said Millmoor ha ha.

Disgrace if true and shows how out of touch they are about the culture of not only this club but this city, the silence continues to be deafening… o do hope that the rumours that they are looking to sell are true…. Get them out.

He can’t even spell ‘NDA’

Ever thought the silence from our owners is because there’s nothing to report.

Daft as it sounds I’m hoping the rumours were true because it shows they’re highly ambitious and have plenty of money.
They’ve been spending pretty big so far fully supporting Wilder and didn’t sell our best players (Hamer and Cooper). So it appears we need them to stay.
However their continued silence (even when buying the club) doesn’t exactly breed confidence and we still don’t know their long term plans or intentions.

These type of polls are too vague.

On a simplistic level….cant see any fan wanting a merger or being happy with a merger…..at instant reaction is no one would go to watch a new merged team.

However we all know how incredibly fickle football fans are. Initially I’d have no interest in a merged team but if a new fancy 65K stadium was built in a good convenient location and pricing was initially cheap then I’d go out of curiosity.

Also put it this way if this merged team was playing Barcelona in a Champions league game then of course I’d be going….
and with careful marketing probably 60,000 other Sheffielders too.

If a team with Sydie Peck and Barry the Bald Goblin in midfield managed to qualify for the Champions League I’d go out of sheer morbid curiosity.

I'm all for it, the new team will need a name, the two clubs have been brought together, united so to to speak, so it should be called Sheffield United.

Similarly, it would only be fair to combine the kits from each club, so we could use the red stripes from our kit, and the white stripes from theirs.

It's a great idea.

January transfer window will say lots about their intentions

I think the issue is that even without the fact that they couldn't legally do it - if they even allegedly enquired then it's a worrying sign
It did keep them from sleeping well though . Little trotters pacing their pig pens with nightmares of the Blades taking them over.
