If we revisit a player that can’t get in a side worse than our PL relegation team then it just goes to show Wilder is sticking with his instincts and not the data analytics approach. All but a couple of our squad are not fit for PL (physically and in ability).
I don’t get this. Cooper, Blaster (if he recovers fully), Peck, Hamer, that’s four at least, not just “a couple”.

And 2 of those are Accadamy players. I’m referring to first team squad that are not part of or products of the Accadamy.

Hope that clarifies.

… although looking at Forest squad at the weekend, just two (Anderson and Yates) survive from playoff final winners, so maybe you have a point.
Anderson they signed from Newcastle last summer, so it's just Yates.

That said, they had an absurd number of players who departed at the end of that season. Multiple loan players, plus numerous out of contract. Cooper had to do a huge round of recruitment that first summer back in the Prem just for them to be able to field a side. Since then they've obviously spent more as they've gotten established.

Not really fair to compare us and them. If Forest hadn't gone up when they did, they would probably have had another 3+ years of building a side to compete for promotion. We are in a much more stable position as regards player exits. Only a couple of expiring contracts, and some of our loanees are for the same position (Clarke & Gilchrist, JRS & BBD), so that means less of a strain on the squad if/when those players leave (assuming we don't take up options for the likes of BBD).

That doesn't necessarily mean we shouldn't look at a thorough overhaul if we do secure promotion - only that it is less mandatory than it was for Forest.

Technically did Shea Charles goal mean that we have a stronger chance to send the pigs down?

If so, welcome aboard agent Charles 🫡

You can add Cooper to the list of players not good enough He has big weaknesses in his game.
First half of last season he was good well protected by a defence shored up by a giant in Soutter. Our defence has been poor since then our defensive stats show this .
Not blaming Coops for all this but his weaknesses have shown since.
Distribution is poor ( not up to premiership standard)
Commanding his area his lack of height hinders him in this dept (not up to premiership standard)
Slow to go down for some shots his reading of situations shows hear a recent goal against boro where Seriki tried to block the shot
and failed should have been on his toes ready to go this is anticipation or reading the game.
Not got a downer on Coops just highlighting his short comings he's a good keeper ! why he is not premiership standard.
He cost 2 million ? So we got what we paid for.
