The bottom line for me is

Regards a loan…NO…..it’s only for this season and we can get better, more experienced players.
However if it was a transfer…or loan with option to buy then YES it’s worth the risk…but only if the price was right.

Wilder know Charles agent well.
If we’re promoted and Southampton are relegated, if he’s still out of favour at Southampton next season
Then wouldn’t be surprised if Wilder tried to sign him next season…..but only if the price is right.
He’s just potential, currently no where near the finished article, so he shouldn’t cost too much.

They'll be grunting in ecstasy at getting one over them Bleds and Wilder....

Without realising that our interest has just cost them a considerable amount of extra moolah and they are no better off than they were at the start of last week...

Basically they are paying a tidy sum for a 3 month loan deal, and probably spanked their January money away to stay the same.

Meanwhile back at the Lane, we will just switch targets and get on with TCB.

Promo video for a player that was recalled then had to pay extra for to come back 🤣

They do come across as a bit desperate at times.

They are equivalent of the fat ugly lass who is left dancing by herself on the nightclub dance floor at 5 mins to chucking out time and then starts trying to flirt with the drunken lads trying to get picked up.

Don’t understand your thinking.
Why would he have any loyalty to SWFC when he’s not even their player?
Also this is all heresay, the player hasn’t officially said anything, it obvious that to Wednesday fans are desperate for a positive spin.

At the end of the day all players do what’s best for their careers or go where the money is best.
No doubt Charles will want to play int Premier league. This reminds me of the Stoke fans regards Tom Cannon.

Read their form and in the early days all their fans were convinced he’s rather stay at Stoke instead of coming to us.
Apparently he loved it there and the rumours were he’s told Leicester he only wants to play at Stoke…….a week later and as expected he’s now here.

When Cannon joined Stoke he was delighted to be there and called them a massive club who could match his ambitions.
A few month later and now Cannon is delighted to be joining United. He called us a massive club that could match his ambitions.

I predict if Charles joins us, he’ll be delighted to be joining us saying how he’s ambitious and always wanted to play in the Premier league.
Regards his SW links, he’ll say that he knows Sheffield is a passionate area and he’s confident his 100% commitment will win over the Blades fans.

Regards Charles when you watch him play he’s OK but nothing special, definitely not as good as Doyle however I think Charles best qualities are
It’s like having 2 men, he has a motor to be involved in attack and defence and he’s excellent at tackling and closing down.
Last week I listened to Talksport 2 when Leeds played Sheff Wed. The Leeds expert said it’s the worse he’s seen Tanaka and Rothwell play
But they mentioned that SW are set up tactically really well stopping LU from playing their normal game
And they specifically praised Charles for his pressing, tackling and general strength preventing the Leeds midfield from functioning like normal.

Charles could be our Nick Montgomery on steroids….more skill and more athletic.

I’d say Doyle is more of a Norwood type, he lacks size and strength but is guaranteed quality
where as Charles is more about potential…he could be a 1 season wonder.
regarding your point about having no loyalty to them, surely you could have said that about JM & TD during their loans spells with us Sheffsteel, but they never came across like that.

At least we know he's scared of our players, and all we have to do is be a bit rude and we'll be in his head.

Exactly
Three things that happened.
1) Southampton have fucked them over
2) Wilder put the fear of God into them and their under fire Chairman, that enabled Southampton to fuck them over
3) Chancer is okay again now, even though he only has a team that is exactly the same as it was when the transfer window opened without having to do hardly anything else

But we all know how it will be reported and waffled about by the deluded "He chose us over them, cos we're massive"

As new signing videos go, signing someone on loan who you already had on loan anyway is right up there.

Chansiri done it again. Made them celebrate what is in fact nothing
🤣

Agree, all things being equal many loanee tends to prefer the club they know and enjoy.

If we were interested in a loan for Cannon….wouldn't be surprised if he’d preferred to stay at Stoke instead of coming here.
The Stoke fans were still hopeful that unless a proper bid came in with increased wages…..he was going back to Stoke due to his attachment there.

Always thought that if we wanted to loan Charles then it wasn’t going to happen…we shouldn’t take it personal if he prefers it there.
Whilst he’s on loan making progress then it’s understandable and normal that he’s enjoying his time being at the same club as his younger brother.

However if it was a proper transfer with big pay rise and PL prospects…..then it would have been a case of “Good bye Sheff Wed”
It’s the same as Kyle Walker has an inner desire to play for us again….but obviously his career and finances are more important.
Whilst ever he’s receiving attractive bids from massive clubs..then we’ve no chance of him coming here.

Can't see them making the play offs and even if they pull off a 3rd fluke in a row, the current top 4 Championship sides are a class above the rest. So they're aren't going up and won't go down, does it make financial sense to spend a hefty wedge on a loan player?
We had this last season with BBD, but if he scored the goals to get us up to 18th or 19th there's a few million extra prize money in the Premier League so you could justify it.

I suspect Charles will think Rohl is off anyway in the summer to Southampton and he'll want to play for Southampton next season under Rohl.

Southampton are probably happy because Charles is getting regular football whereas with us he'd possibly be back up to Souza with us.

He's a good player but as long is Souza is fit well be fine. We're likely to sign Choudhury as back up it seems.

The pull of mid table mediocrity was too big to turn down
Like Stockholm syndrome…

Fair play though, it says more about him as a person and his loyalty that he’s returning there instead of jumping over to a club sat in 2nd, with money to burn if we go up.

We’ve lost nothing in putting an offer in, except having a player available for tonight.

Well that’s me told 😂

The thing you perhaps don’t realise is that I’m not accountable to you or anyone else. I have no desire or care for your thoughts, unlike others that I have interacted with here on this forum.

I have no desire, neither to talk bollocks, but since you have so eloquently made your feelings clear, it also backs up why I shouldn’t have even mentioned any positivity by saying we had an ace up our sleeve. It was the polite way of saying something and nothing. The intent being to say that we were in a good place if we wanted the deal to go ahead.

it’s the bellendry of your comments and the irony that you can claim someone is talking bollocks when you have no idea. And that’s fine. You’re also not accountable for your comments either, 😂

In other words, you don't know whether we have an "ace up our sleeve" or not.
I don't really know much about this. But Swiss is a long time forum user and I'm not sure he's ever claimed to be semi-ITK before now?

I bet they’re penning a song about it already.

Was never going to happen, not in the same season.
Not convinced he’s what we needed anyway, Souza is levels above as a DM, Blaster levels above as an all round player…maybe to cover but added little to our group over Peck/Davies
