Outgoing? Sharp to Celtic

How about come back with some reasoning or debate rather than a sweeping generalisation that people are making out that Billy should be the first name on the team sheet when that isn’t the case.

You're making a sweeping generalisation about what I'm saying about others now.

Sharp hasn't played much this season due to our style of play changing to a flat midfield and wanting more pace up top.

He could have maybe got a few more sub appearances. In the one's he has, some he's looked good and made a difference (Watford away for instance), others he's done little.

Considering we can go 5th on Friday it's a bit rich imho that a handful on here are having a dig at Wilder.

Then again maybe it's influenced by Billy's family, or one member in particular.

He is best (IMO) carrying on with us ... he is 33 and is living his dream (even as a bit part player). Sadly Mark Duffy has hardly enjoyed dropping down a level and that is a real shame.... Being a 'bit part' is better than being a 'no part.'

he is if Wilder would give him a bloody start! If he’s not a bigger goal threat than Robinson and McGoldrick I’m a Chinaman. Not that I’d drop McGoldrick, but I’d play him in behind. As for Robinson I’d have no concerns about letting him go out on loan with a view to getting our money back.

In your first paragraph Dav, that was my intention as a bit of banter. 😁

Joking aside, I’m not being influenced by anything you mention, my main gripe is the considerable game time someone has had over someone else in the squad when he’s shown literally nothing other than the Chelsea away game, that just doesn’t sit right with me and I think this forum is for discussing such things.

He's staying until his contract finishes. He doesn't want a move and will play Sunday league with his pals rather than move on.

I hope he stays. I don't want him to go.
I'd like to see him play more - he looked like an absolute beast against Man City

Surely they’ll be other PL clubs in for him?

If we get the striker in that Wilder wants this window, Billy will go up the road and play some Championship football for a manager who appreciates what he brings to the table.

A manager widely regarded as among the best in the world.

Big mates with Liam Cooper and a few others up there.

Watching them the other night I thought they could really do with a proper finisher. He’ll be their equivalent of Madine, someone to get them over the line.

Despite believing that Bielsa is vastly overrated based on a recommendation from Guardiola (his CV shows he's anything but amongst the best in the world), I think Sharp would bang goals in for fun at Leeds.

Would be interesting if he plays next year in the PL for them if he does. I hope we loan him if he ends up going as he'll score against us if he plays next season.

Madine😂😂😂😂😂😂.

Then Basham will arrive.

And yet wouldn’t hit a barn door for dem Blades !!!

Same principle but further back in time. Or like when the genius Adkins took him to Saints to get them over the line. He’ll do a good job for Leeds, unfortunately.

Who's the striker Wilder wants?

He has never rated Sharp. A bucket load of evidence out there that suggests so.

Is it a bigger bucket than the clear load of evidence to the contrary:
  • Appoints Sharp captain as one of his first acts under no pressure to do so
  • Builds League 1 winning team with Sharp at the heart of it, developing a system that sees Sharp score his joint best total ever with 30 goals. Rewarded with new two-year deal.
  • Builds Championship promotion-winning team with Sharp the main striker, seeing Sharp score his highest return at that level in his career.
  • Had option to automatically extend contract for one year, instead hands Sharp two-year deal in February 2019
  • Ever-present in matchday squad in 2019/20 despite new signings up front. Publicly backed at every opportunity by Wilder in the media.
