Sharp On His Way

Here's my guess...

Morgs (who must be on good wages as he's played in the Prem. and is utterly invaluable) will go to NW's QPR.

High earners are Speed, Naysmith, Harper, Evans and Hendo. Probably in that order.

I think Morgs, Monty and Sharp are all on around 8k a week.

Harper's going (thank god), Naysmith will hopefully accept reduced terms, so that'd leave Evans and Hendo. I think Hendo will go to QPR and Evans will stay because based on what we could get for him it wouldn't be worth selling him, and I doubt anyone would offer him the sort of contract he's on now.

I'd reluctantly accept it if Speed left as well, as long as we could get another good first team coach in.

It might even be 30K

Apparently Stewart was one of Derby's bigger earners.

I'm told by a poster on here that Stewart was on similar wages to Hendrie, and we took them on with another years contract - in the hope that we'd at least get something out of him, unlike Hendrie.

Football's totally lost it, hasn't it?

UTB

Naysmith is on about 16K a week, Billy is closer to the £12K mark and isn't he into his last year of his contract?

I would think it is Naysmith, but I also think Hendo is on a decent wack but no idea how much. Personally I hope it's Hendo, I'm still hoping Naysmith takes a massive pay cut and stays.

Agreed. Henderson can go for me. We just migt startto play a bit of football then. I would liketo see Naysmith stay (he owes us). If a stupid offer comes in for the 'ginger one' I would let go as well.
Billy on around 11k a week but if we can get him scoring like he can, (by playing football) he will be worth it.

Why exactly does Naysmith "owe us"?? I doubt very much he wanted to get injured! In fact, it's less absurd to say that we probably owe him. He's undergone operations and suffered a lot of pain on SUFC's behalf.

Stewart, France and Harper must be on about 20k combined which is a joke.

I heard it rumered that we did a straight swap Stewart for Hendrie both on similar wages Stewart with an extra year on his contract. It was also suggested they were on 20+ per week

From what I've been told (recently from someone reading this thread actually) you'd need to half your figure. Hendrie was on 10K

Think Hendrie was on about £16-18k. Stewart I would imagine is nowhere near that.

We hope.

Although if he is getting paid anything more than a peters pie per appearance then its an outrage.

I'm 99% sure Stewart will be on less than Hendrie, not claiming to be in the know but it wouldn't make sense if were only saving 1k or nothing p/w on wages. Stewart wasn't getting a game at Derby anyway so I can't realistically see him being on big wages.

Re: earlier comment - any talk of Naysmith wanting to stay and being willing to take a pay cut, if true, would all become irrelevant if his agent starts giving it all Charlie Big.

From my "Tommy-sauce" - i reckon Monty could go if contracts aren't signed soon. There are Premiership sharks circling. He loves the club and wants to sign a new contract. One was all in place until Birch joined the club and slashed it before it was signed...

I really don't know where you all get your figures from about players earning this and that. For all we know Mr Ryan France could be the player on "premiership wages", highly doubtful i know.

Were alot of the players contracts up for renewal the year we came down from the premiership? If so, we all know Mr Robson liked to throw money at players from his Middlesboro days. How does a little club like that sign the likes of Juninho and Ravinelli?

My guess is that some players (Bennett, France, Taylor, Ward - he was signed from chesterfield after all) are on very little and we have a very big gap from our low earners to the top ones.

>There are Premiership sharks circling
there always are (agent hype).. none of them ever seem to do 'owt about it tho do they?

As I keep repeating (then getting abused/tagged as a Monty lover for doing so)... One of the last times around, their plans were scuppered by an injury being worse than initially diagnosed.

pesky brain scans

But is that gap as large as the one between the front two [or one away from home] and the midfield?
