1. Stick a retractable roof and retractable pitch system on Bramall Lane, like Real Madrid have done, and leverage our city centre location to host concerts etc so that BL is utilised more often throughout the year. Our tickets are around £35 average. Taylor Swift tickets are £200 - and people gladly pay it.
You have to pay for the roof first, then you have to give the promoters, the artist and other various parties their slice of the $200 ticket price.

I’m not sure the retractable roof and filling BDTBL with Swifties stacks up bearing that in mind!

It's more to do with FFP. The owners can't just come in and throw money at players. That would breach the rules. But spend money on infrastructure which in turn increases our income, then we spend proportionally more on players. Let's say it would cost £200m to install a roof and retractable pitch (i've totally made that figure up). If you're a billion/trillion-air consortium then it's peanuts.

If you’re a billionaire then you’ve probably got there by not throwing money at projects like retractable roofs with little or no return on investment, irrespective of whether it adds a couple of million each year to turnover it’s a daft investment and is unlikely to provide a return either during their time as owners or upon sale.

So your suggestion to increase revenue is . . . .

Corporate boxes and ground facilities that can be used much more on none match days will help. Concerts (I went to Springsteens years ago and we recently had def leppard ) are worth doing but very few acts actually need a football ground. We are limited by location and competition from Leeds and Manchester. People suggesting we develop the Dore ground to some sort of facility to generate extra revenue But I genuinely can't see how you get planning permission for more than a training ground on what must be green belt land. If you want to spend lots of money hope Man City win their case. Rightly or wrongly we can only go so far.

My suggestion is squarely aimed at offering something that Manchester and Leeds can't (unless either of them have an indoor arena capable of easily hosting 30,000 that I'm unaware of). Even the under construction co-op arena will only hold around 23,000. It doesn't have to be limited to concerts either, that was just one obvious suggestion.

I can literally think of loads of bands that would easily fill a 30,000 arena. My wife went to see Take That and my daughter to see Liam Gallagher, just to name 2 in the very recent past.

Funny that.

Villa right at the top of the FFP limits.

Newcastle might have to sell to stay within them.

Chelsea, spent about a billion on players under Boehly.

Almost as if all these clubs are voting through self interest rather than the good of the game 🤣
Just like politicians

Professional football at the top level is now completely f%$@#d. However this ridiculous circus pans out is irrelevant. How wonderful that the Blades are supposedly been taken over by a bunch of American investors..NOT! Its all about MONEY now isn't it. The playing field has a 45 degree slope on it, constructed out of shed loads of cash.

We'll always have our love of the Blades, its inbuilt, but start supporting teams much lower down the ladder if you want to rediscover the authentic, joyful experience of when we were all a bit younger.
