We should be scoring a lot more goals from corners and free kicks.

Our team is fairly tall (today, Stearman, CCV, O'Connell, Basham, Clarke, Lundstram and Stevens all over 6ft), but we hardly ever score, or look like scoring, from dead ball situations.

Our delivery is generally poor but so is our attacking play from set pieces,

Puzzling and something we really, really need to work on. On days like today when we're not at the races it's a way of getting something out of games.

JOC despite being excellent in so many ways needs to take more chances from set pieces. Corners and freekicks he gets a lot of chances which he should be taking.

It will definitely be worked on.

And how many times do we get caught offside on overlap passes?????

Plus, as I keep going on about; our build up play is far too slow and predictable with far too many passes, many of which today went to a Bolton player!!!!

I'm not sure whether he's the only one consistently making good runs but we seem to aim for him all the time.

Beats me why we have to have 4 players in the corner tip tapping it back and forth for 5 minutes allowing every defender to get set if a cross does eventually comes in.

13 corners today and I don't believe caused any trouble from any of them. Imagine if we could score from corners?!

Humbug....rubbish at corners....rubbish at wing play...can't cross a ball............................................TRY AND BE HAPPY!

Must be more practice needed on these as I always thought we looked very dangerous from set pieces last season, especially with the different routines Knilly put in place. One thing I have noticed this year (and this is not meant a as a slant at JOC) is JOC seeming to get no where near the target with his headers. Weird I think as he seeemed to always get them on target last season and unbearable cause them problems.

Specsavers..........................Donaldson crossed it from just past halfway line.

After a short corner routine in which we kept possession and worked the opening.

Get a trip there yourself.

How many phases of play would that be ?
What does it matter? We scored from it.

Had we just whipped it in then there was a 99% chance it would have just been headed away like all corners, at all levels of football.

It matters not one jot.
What doesn’t?

We scored from one today. Thankfully the players and management realise that crossing the ball in time and time again is not all that effective and often opens us up to a counter attack.

But still, “gerrit int box Blades”
