I hope Hull versus Utd doesn’t leave me and other Blades fans as down as I was when we lost the cup semi final to Hull 5-3.
I remember thinking that day how can you score three goals in a cup semi and still lose? I think we were probably out thought that day tactically in the second half, and hopefully these lads will put things right and at least give us more hope of winning than last seasons visit there and not be the victims of another top of the table meltdown. The stakes are high tomorrow guys, lets go and do it!

if I remember correctly, Huddlestone bossed it all the way through the second half after being fairly quiet first half.

Yes, there was at least a feeling of pride in defeat instead of the usual shyte in important games. We'd dumped Premier League and Championship clubs on their arses by just taking them on and not fearing them, and we continued that attitude against Hull.
As most fans accept, we'll never be world beaters, but as long as we give it our best shot the fans will be 100% behind them

that was 1 of my prouder days as a blade. as i trying to tell my niece in her 1st full season as utd fan ( wembley in 1st season utd spoilt her ) that considered successful as a utd fan. considering that for the 1st time in 21 yrs we had scored at a neutral venue. then 45mins from our 1st fa cup final in 80yrs & potentially the 1st team from 3rd tier to make it

lets not forget that all the fans that were there that day are bafta nominated. i know i put it on my CV

I can honestly say I wasn’t down at all that day. It’s the only time I’ve seen United play at Wembley and come away bursting with pride at their performance. A fantastic day and a rare occasion when the result didn’t spoil it.

I was on my way back from the pisser and heard that, really thought we hade made it 4-4. Dull fans silent and we were going mental about conceding a 5th. Bizzare but what a set of fans we are that's why I don't like it when some whinge because the Kop didn't sing enough etc.

The down side of that cup run was of course it put Maguire, Coady and Murphy in the shop window.

It also perpetuated the myth that Nigel Fucking Clough was a good Manager.

Half time at Wembley was one of the most joyous occasions of ever being a Unitedite. Bert had a video of every last one of us singing, shouting and generally behaving like lunatics.
For some inexplicable reason he inadvertently deleted it.
If anyone has a similar video post it now.

It took two hours to get out of North London, back to the M11.

Sitting in a traffic jam stuck for ages. It was hideous.

Going up the escalator at London Bridge Station at about midnight, still feeling pride in defeat when a cunt going the opposite way shouted "mind the gap" if I could have got my hands on the piggy bastard I'd have killed him.

It's how football works - third tier United put up an admirable performance against a Premier League team, the part-time Hull fans who bothered to turn up didn't celebrate too much because they knew they'd meet Arsenal in the final a few weeks later and everybody knew how that would end. But for once a big day out day out where United actually turned up.

The game turned with Brayford needlessly heading the ball behind for a corner under no pressure straight after half time, from which they scored.

Hold on for 10mins after the break and we win that game.

It was going to be a rare day out at the football for @mrsstringjunior and I. It turned in to an awful day, as the missus took a call on the journey down from a collegue and friend telling her about how her 16 year old son had died of a heart attack in the night.

We still went to the game but @mrsSG spent most of the time on calls sorting out getting the colleague back from the USA, getting replacement staff out there, and crying.
