I can remember singing Hi Ho Sheff United in the Top Rank on Saturday nites in the very early 70's,on the dance floor when Jeff Becks song came on,the floor was split on United / Wednesday on who could sing it loudest.

Was Maurice Naylor the DJ at Pigsboro in those early days is that how it became a pig song.

You're not going to believe this.

There's a Wednesday fan at work asking everyone at work to vote for their song.
He's also bragged about logging 100 votes himself simply by clearing the cookies and voting again.

Talk about saddo.
I've never known such an insecure set of fans ha ha

I think that literally makes me want to vomit.

He's only a young lad and it's only a small company.

He's the same lad that was almost crying (literally) when I showed him proof that you have to go back 50 years before Wednesday averaged 30,000.

He said "my dad told me in the 80's we were getting 40,000 every week"
I laughed at his naevity and delusions. They really are like a cult, North Korea style.

Was that a typo? ;)

Ask 100 people who they associate Hi Ho Silver Lining with and the vast majority won't say the pigs or Sheffield.

Ask them about GCB and what do you think...?

In fact, weren't the pigs that pissed off that they didn't have 'a song' compared to ours that they started a campaign to create one last season?

There's a Costa over the road

He posted on Twitter that a Blade had given him (and I quote), "A head but".

But what? wasn't the head enough?
The guys an absolute full weight even sections of his own supporters can't stand him. He should be told to put his clothes back on. Gross!!

He's a Digitial (sic) Reporter.

It's such a complete and utter non-story. There may be a legitimate comparison between two football songs (didn't GCB win some award as the best football chant, I doubt the plagiarisation of Jeff Beck's magnum opus will ever do that. However, there is no common ground between those popular chants and songs which are genuinely about Sheffield, which most of the others on the list aren't, in any case, just mentions in passing (Arctic Monkeys, The Clash)) and even an album title (Tony Christie). At least Richard Hawley's inclusion of Sheffield places stands closer scrutiny and despite his football allegiance, I've always liked his inclusion of local places in his songs, he'd win hands down for me.

Joe Cocker could have had a mention, one of his albums was called Sheffield Steel, it wasn't about Sheffield, but why would that stop it being included in a digitial (sic) poll such as this one?
Surely heavily pregnant brothers have got a decent Sheffield song in their repatoir.

Laughable that the pigs biggest most massive fan is from .......................... errrrrr Wolverhampton way.

Perhaps we should pity someone faced with the choice between Wolves and the Massive. Like choosing which STD you'd like.

He should be fucking harpooned and turned into soap or whatever they do with the part of the Whale they don't eat.

Pigs genuinely have no shame.

Next week: what's the "best dance act in Sheffield"? One entry. Three million votes for it -

God that video is embarrassing! It's like a South American third world village carnival, where their only entertainment is the annual hum and jump to the sound of a damaged road cone on the slum house steps.
