Virus spreading I don’t think the season will be completed. Suspended maybe but realistically scrapped.

Thoughts?

Reckon they will suspend it like last time, if they take any action at all.

Here before the politics talk.

As far as im aware they would only finish the season on PPG if 3/4 of the season has been completed.
Anything before would probably be null & void I reckon.

It might be disrupted/delayed if things get worse aye...but if we do go into lockdown, and if they do stop any sport/entertainment, doubt they'll do so until May will they??

The game that constitutes a "full" season will be the final one. We will be 4th bottom, needing to avoud defeat to stay up. Injuries and Covid will have taken sufficient toll to see P. Jagielka starting at right-back...

Set a precedent last season. Why would it not be finished, even if it gets paused?

There was a vote weeks ago but no one seems to know what the outcome was.

The outcome was well documented but never confirmed officially. They did agree if 75% of the season had been completed the season would end with the current standings. If one team in the league had played less games then PPG would be used instead.

If 75% isn't played, the season will be declared nulled.

Think there’s a possibility it will go t!ts up. Look at rugby, individuals and whole squads going down with it. It’s gonna happen, one team at a time will start getting cases and if it’s one of the self proclaimed big six off to a bad start the plug will get pulled if it’s to their advantage.

They will finish it no matter what. It's about money, and when a team can field 11 players they will go on. Only reason to postpone would be if all the big money team would lose a lot of players for more than 1 game.

I'm not convinced it'll be suspended or cancelled. If the lockdown rumours are true, it sounds very much like a lockdown light anyway. If schools and university's remain open, so will child care and loads of other support services. If most of the country are still at work and our kids at school, I can't see football stopping. The clubs have a way more robust system than any of our employers. So it would send our a worrying message about safety in the workplace.

Well, firstly because a lot less of the season has been played. More importantly, there's clearly a complete lack of ability to keep the spread of the virus under control. At the time it was hoped that the first lockdown would be the last. Now seems like we'll be in and out of full lockdowns for a good long while.
