Honestly right now I'm undecided. Not just because of the football though. With the events of the past 9 months (Gem's illness and passing) have just taken it tole on me physically and mentally. Everyone at united has been a great help through these tough times but for me right now it just doesn't feel the same without her and right now I just don't feel like I do next season. If I don't renew I'll probably just go every now and then and see how things go

Well the side nearest the Kop has the less mentally unbalanced supporters generally speaking, so hopefully I'll get lucky.

Actually it might be me who ends up being the annoying whiny cunt by comparison

Wait until you're going up or down the steps to your seat and some plank stops dead in the middle in front of and has a conversation with Stan and Gert sat about six seats away about bumping into Cecil yesterday, then laughs and waves before looking around totally surprised by the mounting queue behind them and the odd " hurry up you old twat" filtering down.

Renewing

But we're switching to the South Stand next season to get away from the annoying whiny cunt behind us. Only basic social skills and adherence to the law prevent me from emptying my red hot Bovril over his fucking head most home games.

Be aware that as well as having a ready over-supply of whiny lady front bottoms, the south stand takes a very dim view of any positive encouragement and singing is strictly prohibited under any circumstances.

We will be there utb

well i'm not renewing or getting a membership . then next season when we have a big game i can come on here and whinge/cry like a big baby that i can't get a ticket cos i can't access my loyalty points....;)

Had a season ticket since we went down to the 4th and can't see me not having one going forwards.

Doesn't mean for a second that I'm at all happy with what is going on down there but there's little any of us can do about that and in any case, what else would I do on a Saturday come 3'0'clock?

Decent Premiership ground, a good Championship crowd, but alas, an under performing, very inconsistent league 3 team (squad). Trouble is that we have a board and owners who appear content with that scenario.

Up the f**king Blades

Funny that, I've come across a fair few sensitive souls that seem to have a quite a big problem with any kind of opinion expression. You'd think you were at your in-laws barbecue as opposed to a heated football environment.

On BladesMad a post like that would result in you being called. "club killer" and you'd be personally blamed for our decline. It's much nicer on here where the slashers like to pontificate like Stephen Fry or Brian Sewell.

Shit, I may need to think about this.

Might move right to "back 'ot Kop". That way it's not as annoying when everyones shouting as opposed to one prick with an irritating voice.

I had contemplated returning to the kop, as the south stand is so devoid of atmosphere. I would have suggested a seat swap, but I like your suggestion about the back instead.
You supply the flares , I'll bring the racist chants, so we seamlessly integrate.

For me it's quite simple.

I'll always go to first match, Boxing Day and the last home match of the season no matter.
Even if we were the worse team in the league with zero entertainment and heading for the non league I'd always show a certain ( minimal) level of support.

However for me it's all about showing realistic ambition.
As long as we make decent (on paper) signings and are rated by most people as favourites for promotion
Then I'll go to most matches. I was very impressed that we paid big money to sack Clough and bring in the manager with the best cv around with loads of promotions (Adkins). So I'll show my support and have been to most 80% of home games this season.

If we downsize and show no effort to gain promotion, sell our best players and don't re-invest it then I'll show my displeasure by doing a mini boycott and picking and choosing the odd match.

I don't know your story or you mate but even from what you have written your situation puts everything in perspective for me. I'm getting all hot under the collar about the apparent hell the blades put me through as are thousands of others .
Not a deep or emotional person but your post hit me .
Stay strong and when the time is right I am sure the blades will welcome you back.
In the meantime blades that know you and blades that don't I am sure wish you well

I'll be renewing and happy clapping all the way to the ticket office.

Not that he was always right (or wrong) but as Bill Shankley once said, "if you can't support us when we lose or draw, don't support us when we win"

I'll be renewing ...again....what else is there to do on a Saturday afternoon?

Oh and we don't allow swearing in the South Stand either Tyler....

Renewing, without hesitation. I sit in the Kop with my dad and his mate. Good view, but ever so partially obscured by one of the stand supports. So I may attempt to convince Auld Papa Damski to change to somewhere more central, but he does rather like things the way they are. He has a relationship with the bloke behind him which is based entirely on him turning round and high-fiving him whenever we score. Love bantering with the lads sat around us as well, but if I'm paying ~£350 for a season ticket I want a better view this time.

I live in London, work in a bar, spend a lot of money coming up north and have missed about 3 home league games so far, so there's no excuse from you lot, is there. Just renew, you miserable sods. What you gonna do on a Saturday instead? Pick out ridiculously-named impractical chairs at Ikea with the Mrs?

Depends whose Mrs?

I wont be renewing as I have to work every other weekend and quite frankly cant be bothered (unless by some miracle we go up)

Ticked the ST but undecided box.

I'll probably renew, but of two others I know, one says he isn't and the other has started playing on Saturdays instead so he may or may not.

Generally, for the first time I'm starting to feel that people have had enough

I'll be there without doubt.

I very rarely went to The Lane as a kid as my parents split up when I was 3 and neither of them, despite being fans, went to The Lane, so I only started going on a regular basis when I started working and could pay for myself. I've had a season ticket since the day I started working and I will have one every season till the day that I can't go anymore.

Where's the option for supporting a non league club but posting on a league club's forum desperately trying to be popular?
Why do some people have a problem with Jonny being on here? He's a good contributor to the forum and he's even though he isn't a fan, he's clearly interested in The Blades.

Where you sit now? Sounds like you sit near to me... just in front, even.

bugger me - you do sit just in from of me.

I think I'm just too far back for you to hear my extensive views on Neil Collins defending and the quality of Martin Woolford's right foot.

TBH - from previous experience of the South Stand, I'll be surprised if it's any better on there
