me and my boys have season tickets in family stand and my Mrs comes to occasional games. She wants to watch Burton tomorrow and a neighbour who cant go has offered to lend her season ticket. Hers is a concession ticket on the kop and my Mrs won’t pass for a pensioner. Do they check tickets at all - never had mine checked but am quite hesitant to use this ticket in case she cant get in so may just buy one.

A light shows that a concessionary ticket has been used, it's a game of chance as to whether the stewards notice or do anything about it.

You used to be able to go to the ticket office and pay the difference, I believe. Can this still be done, if you don’t want the wife locking up?

I had a concession ticket on the Kop for 3yrs in my dads mates name, who was a pensioner, I never got checked. I doubt the stewards will check with a women if she's over 65yr old, for one they won't have the balls to ask and for 2 they're on the minimum wage and don't give a shit.

I say go for it, live on the edge.

Think I’ll buy her a ticket - would be a right pain if she couldn’t get in

Turn up 10 mins before kick off and they won't say a thing. Too many people to cram in.

A friend of mine had a child's season ticket for a good few years before he earned enough dosh to pay full whack*. Never had an issue.

*Don't judge him too harshly. They were harder times!

If you go to the ticket office with the ST you pay the difference between the concession price and full price for that particular match - about £6. They then give you a full price paper ticket to use. You can do the upgrade 6 times a season, though I don’t know if they keep count.

Isn't that 6 upgrades thing for the season ticket holder though, not for someone they've lent it to?

The upgrades are for the ST.

The 6 upgrades limit is for the specific ST.

Yeah so say I have a ST on the Kop and fancy going on the Westfield I can do that as an upgrade. Not I have a concession ST but want to lend it to a non-concessions person and they can upgrade?

I’m pretty sure no one will care

Maybe be not at SUFC but I know someone who lent his (non concession) ST to his daughter at Rotherham this season and they just happened to do some spot checks that game. She was frog marched to the ticket office to buy a match day ticket.

Last time I went to move to the BLUT ultra section, you can move as much as you want.

So you can only upgrade the ticket to adult or full, 6 times a season. If your paying the difference to move a full ticket, you can do that as much as you want. I’m sure that’s what they said.

Unlikely you’ll ever get frogmarched out if you have a full priced ticket, why would they. Probably explains why Rotherham have no fans !

live dangerous , just do it

Think we're talking at cross puproses mate. You're talking about you moving to the BLUT, on your ST and upgrading cos the seats are dearer on there I think? I'm talking about when the ticket is lent to someone else as was the case at Rotherham and as per the OP.

The reason I'm interested in this is because there's someone who wants to borrow mine when I'm on holiday etc. I'd like to oblige as it seems mean not to, abd bonkers to let the seat go empty, but I've just got this concern about it. Think maybe the club could be a bit clearer, but reading the Terms&Conditions I linked to above it says no.

Yes mate, think I went off topic a bit. You’re right it does say you can’t lend it out and that’ll be a ‘safety’ thing. But if your lending an adult ticket to anyone, you and the ticket user, would be the most unlucky people at Bramall Lane ever to get stopped because the card didn’t have the correct name on it !

My mate has used my dads concession ticket numerous times and we have never even been looked at.

Just send an email to the club with your customer number and who’ll be using it to cover yourself if your worried.
